Monumental Movieland Hotel Orlando

Would definitely be back but it need upgrades been staying here since 2015 definitely need upgrades ASAP

My room was clean but only one towel, so I had to ask for another. I am a big guy and need a bigger towel. The staff was friendly and super nice. I had to leave early, and they refunded my unused day without any problems. There is a steak house connected and it was a great option to not have to drive for dinner. The location is right off of I-4 so that was super handy.

I've been coming to the Monumental Movieland hotel for the last 9 years. It is in a perfect location; you can walk to Universal and there is public transportation to Disney right outside (#42, then 300). If you are coming to Orlando to spend all your time in the hotel, then Monumental is not for you, however, if, for you, a hotel is an inexpensive, clean, convenient, safe place to sleep and perhaps take a swim, then Monumental is perfect. The staff makes every effort to keep the place clean and is very accommodating. Sometimes, you have to ask for towels; the front desk will supply them immediately and anything else you need. They recently re-did the laundry room and it is state of the art (no need for coins). The rooms are bare bones, but they are clean and the a/c works. Most of the televisions are new and you can sign into any of your streaming services. I have never had trouble with the internet and have been able to stream movies on my computer with no problem. Downsides: (1) you sometimes have to ask for thing at the front desk (no problem in getting them, (2) not many vending machines (24-hr Walgreens is right next door), (3) room are old-fashioned and worn (but, the price is very low for a perfect location). This place is a gem for the price. Let's hope that they don't remodel and start charging high rates.
