Quality Inn Fort Walton Beach - Destin West

Friendly and accommodating staff. Large clean rooms. Great location with a small beach on the bay. Huge 9ft deep pool, which my kids loved. Decent breakfast. We would recommend to others and plan on returning soon.

The room had the worst slippery floor I have ever walked on .. I fell over and hurt my ankle due to it. The room was tidy but not clean. The towels were so thin you could see through them. The phone didn’t work, I had to ring the front desk due to the WiFi not working for 2 out of the 3 days I stayed. I went to get breakfast on my last day and there was no one around to ask to refill the eggs! The little beach at the back of the place was the perfect place to have breakfast, that was my only positive!

This definitely could have been a five-star experience if it weren’t for the breakfast. Am I saying this is a five-star hotel? Absolutely not—but I base my rating on my personal experience, not just appearances. From the start, the staff was incredible. The manager was attentive and professional, and Monique at the front desk was exceptional—definitely a five-star employee! She made check-in smooth and welcoming. The location is perfect—close to everything you might need. While the property is older, the interior was refreshed, clean, and smelled great. My room was spotless, with a sparkling clean bathroom and no grime in the corners (which I always check!). I also had a room facing the water, which gave it an elegant, peaceful feel. The pool area had a natural, earthy vibe thanks to the huge, beautiful trees, and you can even rent jet skis and pontoon boats right behind the hotel—huge plus! Now, where things fell short was breakfast. It’s included, which is appreciated, but the quality was lacking. The waffle mix tasted like cardboard, the eggs didn’t feel real, and there was no protein provided—supposedly due to a delivery issue. And the coffee? Unfortunately, it didn’t hit the mark either. They really need to revisit their breakfast offerings if they want to elevate the guest experience. All in all, I’d still recommend this hotel and would stay again. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) This was our first time visiting the Fort Walton/Destin area, and we booked our stay through Expedia. Honestly, I don’t understand why this hotel has a low rating—our experience was nothing short of wonderful. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. There’s a nice outdoor pool and even a pizza restaurant right next door, which was super convenient. One of our favorite features was the small private beach with a dock, beach chairs, and picnic tables. Every evening, we brought our dinner back to the hotel and had a relaxing picnic on the beach while watching the sunset over the water. Our kids absolutely loved it—they said it was their favorite part of the trip! After dinner, they enjoyed playing in the sand and water while we relaxed. Breakfast was decent, and I want to give a special shoutout to the tall gentleman with glasses (Boris)—he was always helpful and attentive. Christy at the front desk was phenomenal and went out of her way to help us with our late check-in. The new manager (Handon) was just as great during our checkout. Honestly, the entire new staff was incredible—welcoming, friendly, and clearly committed to making our stay enjoyable. We’re a family of five, and we genuinely appreciated the warm and family-friendly atmosphere. My stay was wonderful. The staff was great. The breakfast buffet was great. My bed was very comfortable and my room was very spacious. I will be back to stay here when I come back to Destin. My ONLY complaint is that my bathroom wasn't very clean and my floor was pretty dirty. My white socks were black on the bottom and the bathroom gave me the heeby jeebies. But other than those things, everything was wonderful!! Cant wait until we co,me back to Destin!!

Sound water front...Pool...Quiet...Parking...Clean...Comfy Bed.

Could feel the dirt and sand under our feet in room. Floor hadn’t been mopped in a while. Pretty strong for in room -musty. No light for entire trip in elevator. Hall floors not mopped often as spills were there for days. Had to get towels every day. Despite asking for towel service. Staff at front desk super friendly though!!

Great location and convenient in location, but had key issues daily…frustrating to go to the office every day to get keys replaced. This was our third time staying here..and we like the area especially the small beach area behind the hotel…really nice chill spot.

I liked the location and staff in front office very friendly .I didn't like the fact that we had NO room service the whole 4 days we were there. No one even knocked on my door to ask if I needed towels or anything. I had to go to front desk and get my own towels.

Front desk/lobby attendant was fantastic… very friendly and accommodating. The room had a spectacular view of the bay and beach area as long as large service/work trucks were not parked all day. I like that you can rent boats and jet skis so close. Breakfast in the lobby was non-existent and not refilled to accommodate the number of guests staying in the hotel. We ended up bringing coffee, donuts and danish into our room. The bathroom was not clean, there was dirt and dust behind the door and in corners of the room. However, the cleaning staff was very friendly. Our room faced the bay and when the blinds were closed, a portion of the blinds had been cut or broken allowing those outside in the parking lot to see into the room. I used a towel to hang between the blinds to close the space. There was a dead cockroach on the floor in our room I can only hope came from the adjoining room as it was the only one I saw however, I pulled everything out of our bags to make sure we were bringing nothing home with us. We did not go to the pool. The location of the hotel is wonderful on 98 and we were able to get to everything very quickly. Not sure I would stay at this hotel again, for the price and condition of the rooms. Was my first vacation in over 10 years and I made sure I enjoyed myself.

Very dirty on inside and out. Building needed serious repair. We could hear everything next door.

We enjoyed our stay . It’s in a great location! The little beach is nice to relax on . There’s a part next to it great for an afternoon walk or for ur kids to play . We will stay there again next year

We were there 2 days and the 1st day our ac went out, the blinds in our room were broken and let light in, only had 1 towel for 4 people. The pillows were way too soft and the pool closed too early/ the floor in our room was full of sand the 1st time we stepped foot in it.
