According to its history, Yoshinoya was first opened by Eikichi Matsuda in Japan in 1899. The name Yoshinoya originally came from the word “Yochin-co”, which is the hometown of Eikicho in Osaka. Meanwhile, the word “ya” means home in the Japanese language. This Japanese restaurant started to gain its success in the 1960s. Fast forward to 1996, Yoshinoya has successfully branched out its service to 500 outlets from 100 outlets back in the 1970s. In the early 2000s, the number of Yoshinoyas’s outlets had increased to 1.000, which were spread around the world.
In the beginning, Yoshinoya originally served Gyudon only, which is a bowl of rice that is served with thin-sliced beef and cooked with sugar and soy sauce. The decision to serve Gyudon was taken because the cooking process was rather quick. Besides, Gyudon also has an affordable price so that more people have the opportunity to try. Don’t worry about the taste quality since Yoshinoya always makes it a priority. It’s not surprising that Yoshinoya is really known as the “delicious, affordable, and fast” restaurant with millions of loyal customers.
As time went by, Yoshinoya has served many other menus besides Gyudon. One of which is the famous Beef Bowl. However, people in Japan are more likely to order Yoshinoya’s Beef Yakiniku, which is cooked using a special technique. That’s why the Beef Yakiniku has a tasteful, tender-textured meat. In addition, Yoshinoya also provides several package menus with a relatively affordable price.
Not only does it serve beef menu, but Yoshinoya also offers chicken-based menu such as Crispy Chicken Bowl Tori Don with various flavors, which are Black Pepper, Egg Mayo, and Red Hot Chili. There are also Teriyaki Chicken, Shrimp Bowl, and Combo. If you want to add vegetables to your menu, you can order a Veggie Beef Bowl. Some other Beef Bowl menus that you can choose are Salted Egg & Japanese Nori, Broccoli & Egg Mayo, and the Indonesian-themed Beef Bowl such as Rendang and Green Chili.
Meanwhile, for the package menus offered in Yoshinoya, you can order Paket Puas, Super Deal, and even a specialized package menu for kids. Paket Puas consists of the Bowl menu and fried foods, one of which is the fried chicken Paket Puas with three Chicken Rolls. There is also the fried prawns Paket Puas which consists of one Egg Roll, one Shumai, and one Ebi Fry. If you prefer the Super Deal package, you will get a big fried chicken and chicken karaage.
As one of the most well-known Japanese restaurants in Indonesia, Yoshinoya always makes sure to provide excellent services to its customers. Most of Yoshinoya’s customers are more likely to order the spicy Japanese menu ones. Another plus point is that Yoshinoya also offers free refill if you order a glass of ocha. Add that with a fast and friendly service, Yoshinoya has been able to maintain its reputation. It’s no wonder that Yoshinoya’s customers are always satisfied. One of them is Jong, who once had a dine-in in Yoshinoya Grand Indonesia, as he wrote in Traveloka Eats.
According to another customer named Ivan who also had a dine-in experience in Yoshinoya Grand Indonesia, the restaurant has a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. Not to mention that you can also benefit from special promos from Yoshinoya, which you can get through Traveloka Eats.
Besides Grand Indonesia, Yoshinoya has also branched out to many shopping centers in Indonesian cities. Some of which are Yoshinoya Trans Mart Yogyakarta, Yoshinoya Tunjungan Plaza Surabaya, and Yoshinoya Citraland. Each outlet offers high-quality service with tasteful menus. Lusi, one of the customers in Yoshinoya Tunjungan Plaza, admits that she feels satisfied with her dine-in experience there, moreover with the vouchers from Traveloka Eats.
