Nice hotel. Parking was limited.

Good stay overall, but the hotel didn’t quite have the level of grandeur we expected from a Marriott. We booked two rooms and appreciated being given adjacent ones on the first night. The rooms looked good in terms of listed square footage, but the proportions were awkward and made parts of the space hard to use. The air‑conditioning also didn’t work. Later that night, we were moved to interconnecting rooms with working air‑con, which made a noticeable difference. The pool has great views, but despite being advertised as heated, the water felt cold and appeared to more reliant on sunlight than a heating system. It warmed up as the day progressed. After swimming, my eyes were irritated for several hours, which raised concerns about the chemicals used. A pleasant stay overall, but several details fell short of what we’d expect from a Marriott‑branded property.

Really enjoyable stay at the Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly, helpful and went above and beyond throughout our stay. A special thank you for allowing my decorator early access to prepare the room for my wife’s birthday surprise, as well as kindly storing her birthday cake in the fridge until it was needed — those little touches were really appreciated. The outdoor pool was lovely, but the highlight has to be the location — being so close to Bournemouth beach was fantastic. Overall, a great stay and a memorable birthday trip!

The hotel room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also quite good. Good location and close to the beach. There was some construction work during weekday daytime, so it could be a little noisy at times, but it wasn’t too disruptive. The reception required a £250 deposit at check-in for our five-night stay. My main concern was the billing. There were several small service charges added to my bill. When I asked about them at check-out, the staff explained that these extra fees were applied whenever I had dinner or drinks at the hotel’s restaurants. However, this was never explained to me in advance. Although the amounts were small, I believe guests should be informed about these additional charges before dining, so there are no surprises when settling the bill. I would also recommend CAREFULLY CHECKING your final bill at check-out. I noticed an incorrect £30 charge on mine, which I pointed out to the staff. They acknowledged the mistake and refunded the amount immediately.

A fabulous stay for our 25th wedding anniversary. A lovely room. Some lovely cocktails and meals in the restaurant . Highlight was the view from our triple aspect bay window.

Been a platinum with Expedia for years never had an experience like this. You should not work with this establishment. Do not stay here.

The staff were very unprofessional and disorganised. The breakfast was poor - under cooked eggs, bacon was dreadful and the mushroom looked boiled to death. Had to move rooms three times. No porter. And parking is a nightmare. Never stay here again.

Building and hotel were great. Very impressive. Staff were very helpful. Room was very clean and great services. Outdoor pool was very clean and warm with the weather. Breakfast seemed a bit unorganized. Bar was well stocked. Parking for guest was very limited and the parking lot was very small.

Breakfast was very good, quality products used. The pool area and other amenities are dated. Pool staff didn’t bother removing left towels from beds so you don’t know if someone left them or keeping the bed occupied. Air con in our room was working perfectly, mind that we visited during the heat wave with over 31 degrees.

Fantastic location with great views out over the beaches. Close amenities such as restaurants, shops, beach etc. Outdoor pool is lovely again with views out to see. Delicious breakfast with good selection of food. Helpful staff. Limited parking but does have EV chargers. Highly recommended

We literally can't wait to go back. The location is absolutely perfect, the pool is awesome and the staff really lovely. The only thing that detracts is the 4pm check in which they seem to stick to, very rigidly. (Though our visit was during the heatwave of June so understandable if the rooms were taking longer to get ready). The cottage we stayed in was gorgeous and the complimentary minibar a lovely touch.

In general a lovely experience however if you want breakfast and haven’t booked it as part of the room make sure it order it when you check in for all the nights you are there. It’s also cheaper. Unfortunately we only wanted it for the second morning and went to book it the night before only to be told we couldn’t, we weren’t told that by reception staff when we checked in that you had to book for all the nights you were staying. Consequently they missed out on our money which we spent elsewhere.

Beautiful room with views of Bournemouth pier

I stayed at the Highcliff Marriott Hotel in Bournemouth and I loved it. The staff were very helpful and courteous, my seaview room was great and the food was delicious. I will definitely be returning as soon as I can.

Super location and rooms with a sea view were lovely.

The room was very clean and spacious. The layout of the hotel is a bit odd, with us having to walk across the back parking lot to access the wing our room was in. The hotel itself is in a perfect location for the beach and pier, with one of the public lifts located right outside the front, which takes you down the cliff for a small fee. We did have one oddity, upon check-in our room wasn’t ready, so I took my 3 year old to the pool while we waited, but was told we weren’t allowed to access it until our room was ready… I have stayed at hotels all over the world and never heard of not being able to access the hotel amenities on the day of check-in. This was quite annoying. All in all it was a nice little getaway, just not as accommodating as other hotels I have been to, especially in the Marriott family, I would have expected better.
