Our stay at The Pell was very pleasant. The hotel was clean, quiet, and had an updated feel. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Where The Pell lost points:
1. Our booking through hotels.com said on-site parking was included and free. But when we arrived, they said there is a $10 parking fee per night. I'm not sure if the disconnect is on the hotels.com side or the Hyatt side. The Hyatt web site shows there is a $10 fee that started May 1. But, staff waived the fee when I showed the info from hotels.com. Bottom line: get your info in sync.
2. Breakfast is not included — and that is OK. I paid a small add-on charge for what was advertised on hotels.com as "breakfast buffet available." However, there was no buffet. Ordering was off a limited menu in the hotel restaurant with a provided voucher. The food was fine and our waitress was very pleasant, but I prefer a buffet. It's not that I want to heap my plate with as much food as possible... it's about variety. I want some eggs for protein AND I want some fruit and yogurt. Maybe later in the season (we visited pre-memorial Day) they do have a buffet, but the bottom line is: get your info in sync with hotels.com.
3. On our second day there was a hotel-wide water shutdown between 10am and 1pm for annual maintenance. Luckily, this did not affect us because we were out and about during that time, but... what if?
