Very disappointed- not the normal Hyatt standards. Arrival and check in was not welcoming. Club Lounge not up to normal standard of others. 6-8pm was the only time there was some service. Often no tea/ coffee/milk available. Snacks scarce out of the ‘cocktail hour’. When we arrived we were told we should come back at 6, it was 5.45pm. We only wanted some water! The guy on the last night of our stay ( Friday) helping in the club lounge was superb- and thoughtful but he stood out. The poor area was sad, sparsely furnish. Often needed to ask for towels, rubbish and dead plants in flower beds.The pool on Friday was cloudy and had paper napkins and other debris in it.Dirty towels left around but staff not busy and often sat at the bar on phones. I could go on. It will put me off booking a Hyatt. For the same price, we definitely should have stayer somewhere else in wonderful Merida. I felt so let down. I did raise my concerns via the Hyatt app ( they said they would tell the hotel but nothing they could do), I also DM’d via Instagram and found a card and some chocolates in my room but honestly they were also really unpleasant- curry powder flavoured ‘truffle’?!?! It did not make us feel any better.
