Perfect location. Comfortable, good value and friendly.

Lovely hotel, lots of character. Room spacious, very comfy bed. Norfolk Tap was great. Staff friendly and helpful

The attic rooms, which are expensive, are not fit for purpose in hot weather. No air-con, of course, but you can barely open the windows. The sun blasts on to the roof just above and creates an oven! The provided fan was little help. Very bad night's sleep. The unhelpful receptionist told me that the hot room was due to the heat. I asked if we could swap rooms, but he said the hotel was fully booked, despite a portable sign outside saying 'Rooms available tonight'. Breakfast was very poor. Probably the worst I've had in a hotel for a long time. I found a lot of the staff unhelpful, aloof and off-hand. Foul-smelling paint pots had been left on the staircase, which were a tripping hazard. We won't be going back.

Very nice historical inn with clean rooms, comfortable bed and hot shower. The central location is perfect for dining, visiting the local sites and shops.

This hotel is steeped in history- it is well located in Arundel but it is tired - had a annex room - immediately we walked into the corridor it smelled musty - the art work and the carpets old and tired. Room - clean - not luxurious- functional- furniture old - beds clean and comfortable. There were notices to tell you that should you spill anything on the carpet then expect a £100 fine . Bathroom basic - shower worked ok - black mould around basin taps and basin was stained. Convenient location- there is an overnight parking charge which we hadn’t expected. Bar was closed by 10pm. Not good value for money

Great hotel .. perfect location

Amazing location in the heart of arundel and walking distance to the castle, all the local amenities in the town and to the train station, rooms were suitable.

Excellent location within easy walking distance of train station, castle, cathedral, local shops and cafes/restaurants. We watched the World Cup football in the Tap Bar downstairs. Staff were lovely and welcoming and the bar had a nice atmosphere and buzz to it. 5* for warmth and friendliness of staff and location. 3.5* for rooms - great for a night's stay and clean and comfortable. The complimentary biscuits and water were a nice touch.

Considering the building was built in 1783, it's in remarkably good condition. The bedroom was modern, with all the amenities you'd expect. All the people that work there are great, but the wife and I spent time talking to Lara and Eddie in the bar - both lovely people. The food was nice, the drink prices reasonable, and the breakfast we had in the morning was very nice, and served by a very polite, friendly, and hard working young lady - who's name I didn't get. This was a spur-of-the- moment trip to Arundel. We like it there, so I'm hoping we'll make another visit soon.

Contacted hotel prior to arrival to explain due to mobility difficulties I needed a ground floor room, charged extra £15 for this. Communal area to annexe very tired and in need of new carpet and paint. Room old fashioned which was fine,it was quaint, but not very clean and tiny bathroom. Lovely comfy bed. Overpriced because it is in the centre of Arundel with very little competition. Not wheelchair friendly

An old unique property which needs some maintenance but we had a lovely stay. Only issue we had was that the shower basin was overfilling and had to turn the shower off to allow the water to drain.

Hotel was clean and nicely decorated. Great location in centre of town. Nice bar and seating area. Helpful and friendly staff. Would stay again

The hotel it’s self was very nice, well situated, the young man on reception was a bit moody I thought and not overly helpful

I loved the sitting room which had very interesting historical references. The bedroom was very clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel is in a great location. I took a drink from the Tap bar into the sitting room and relaxed after a busy day. I would definitely stay here again and will pass it on to anyone I know who wants to visit Arundel. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

The location of the Norfolk Arms in Arundel is great. Coffee shops, restaurants and the castle itself are all a short walk away. However, I can see that the rooms could get stuffy in the summer as the windows only open about 6 inches and there is noise as guests come and go from the rooms in the courtyard building. The simple reason why I would not stay here again; the bed pillows are the worst I have ever seen in a hotel. They were hard and flat with minimal filling. I placed a sweater inside one of the pillow covers to use that night as no amount of fluffing did anything for what they provided.
