Had a wonderful and peaceful stay for my birthday - staff very kindly upgraded my room. I had the most relaxing facial at the spa which was worth every penny! I also really enjoyed the fish and chips from the restaurant. Cleanliness was overall good, but could've been improved when it came to stains on the sofa in the room, occasional hairs left on furniture and insects found in-between the window frames. I understand some of these can be difficult to remove, but that attention to detail would've have made the stay 10/10 for me.

Outstanding. From the minute I arrived it was clear this was an efficient, clean, and amazing hotel - staff were brilliant and couldn’t do enough for you. Will definitely be staying again. Shame it wasn’t a longer stay as would have liked to have had a walk round the gardens and hotel to see more.

I’ve been coming here since 2009. A wonderful place for a quiet retreat.

I wanted this hotel to be be everything it promised to be, but it just isn’t. Our room was a bit tired and in need of modernisation. The decor in some areas feels very dated. It’s incredibly overpriced, our room was as small as it possibly could be, but the Garden Room restaurant is definitely the main culprit here. The vibe is plain odd, and the food is just fine. The vegetarian Tortelloni was £37. I wish we’d just eaten in the bar…. better atmosphere and a better selection of food. The staff were again ‘fine’. No real warm welcome and some of them just seemed to lack training. Not their fault at all. It feels like a hotel that just hasn’t got a real hold on what it wants to be. There was nothing particularly awful about our stay, but I just couldn’t recommend the place.

Thank you for the warm welcome at reception and allowing us to park our car at the front of the hotel. Our room was clean and welcoming. Staff were all polite, friendly and helpful. Our only criticism was the lengthy wait for drinks to arrive at the terrace bar. We either ordered in bulk! Or headed into the fox bar for swifter service.

We had a basic room. Very spacious and quiet but a little dated. The gardens and terrace are perfect

It was very beautiful setting staff attentive. Breakfast disappointing toaster machine poor and a coffee machine que for it ! Really not what you expect at breakfast no menus first morning for breakfast provided all a bit chaotic at breakfast unlike dinner first class . Reception staff don’t re act to requests or problems need training.

Our 2nd stay & will definitely stay again. Everything was great
