Small serviceable hotel in a quiet town. The hotel itself is nicely maintained, with spacious and clean rooms. We liked the fact that it's located in a very convenient part of town, with a convenience store across the street, and some good breakfast diners just further down. The Mito train station (with a nice attached mall) is only 10 minutes' walk away.

Nice & clean

I planned to eat breakfast at the morning buffet,but could not believe what I saw. Should have known after I witnessed a waitress staff member coughing by the food when I was being seated. After getting a plate of food from the buffet, I noticed the same waitress scratching what appeared to be her rear end. I imediately turned away in denial and thought this couldn't be happening. Within a few seconds I looked again and thought I saw what looked like a silver shiny object emerging from her back. It is possible that she was cleaning it with the uniform she was wearing,but I didn't stay to ask. This is something that many people fear,but never actual expect to happen to them. I was shocked and may never feel comfortable eating a hotel buffet again.

Straightforward business hotel with a 7/11 and McDonalds next door. Excellent Internet.

The location of the hotel is good as it is walking distance from Mito Train Station. It is a typical business hotel, the best available option for Mito according to hotels.com. It will be better if hotels.com can have a range of hostel for backpackers, which is cheaper than President Hotel Mito.

best hotel location close to mito station. My only complaint is the doona was too warm for the room temperature and the pillows too small.

Proper USA/European size hotel room, with fancy Japanese toilet/bidet in the bathroom. Furnishings starting to get just a little tired in places, but still perfectly adequate. Stayed 3 nights, only used the breakfast buffet, not the evening meals. The breafast, on 12th floor with good view, was mostly Japanese style, but also has brown & eggs, and some rolls/croissants for more western preferences. Mattress too firm for my personal liking, but good pillows. My "non-smoking" room was just that, with no tobacco odours (unlike that of a colleague who accidentally got a smoking room, so make sure you book the correct room type). A simple few hundred yards walk to the Mito train station area, with numerous shops, cafes & restaurants.
