My 9-year-old and I stayed at the Royal York for one night for a birthday trip. Our first impressions were good - the decor and ambience were lovely, and the service was attentive. The room was clean and spacious, though the bathroom was a bit cramped. Our stay was ruined for us, however, during the middle of the night. We were woken up at 3:30 am by a group of people speaking very loudly in the hallway. The group then proceeded to go into the room next to us, and to have a loud gathering of people, with people going in and out of the room. There had to be 5 or 6 people in there at some points. I could hear everything they were saying through the walls. I called down to the front desk and they said they would send security up. Security arrived approximately 15-20 minutes later, and after they left things quieted down somewhat and it seemed as though some people left the room. However, there were still at least 3-4 people in the room, and over time they got louder and louder again, making it impossible to sleep. I was up from 3:30 am until 5:30 am, and my daughter was in and out of sleep. Needless to say, this really put a damper on our trip. I understand that this wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but what was most disappointing to me was that no one from the hotel checked in with us the following day. Furthermore, I emailed the Front Desk and the General Manager to share our experience, and have not received a reply. I would have expected much better from from a Fairmont hotel.

Problem #1 toilet flusher handle didn’t work. I got housekeeping to fix it quickly. #2 there appeared to be no phone charger in the room. I asked at reception and they couldn’t tell me exactly where it was so I continued scouring the room till I found it on the bedside table clock. Who knew!

Extremely clean and very helpful staff. Everything is very close by. variety of shopping, resturants and other attractions are within walking distance.

Loved this hotel and will be going again. We booked gold room and the lounge was beautiful with delicious snacks and polite staff. Gorgeous setting. Perfect location. Cocktails in the bar was delicious. Wish we could have stayed longer.

The room was great and we were well received for a late arrival. Bell reception was outstanding, especially Mohammad who help us with our luggage the next day to Via Rail. At breakfast the staff was amazing. Thank you to them all.
