Staff pleasant, good buffet breakfast. Room clean and comfortable bed

Beautiful hotel in a historical mill. Many original features have been retained making the hotel an absolute historic delight. The rooms were very comfortable but what made it for us were the super friendly staff. They couldn't do enough for us and you felt very valued and very much an individual rather than just another guest in a big chain hotel. Location was perfect for us, not far from the River Tay and some lovely walks along with the shops and pubs in Perth. Parking on site but recommend getting there early to guarantee a space. There is plenty of parking all round the hotel though. Considering our stay included the night of Scotland's first world cup match it was very quiet and we had good nights sleep. Please be aware there is no lift, but the staff helped us with our luggage up to our room. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so lovely!

Lovely hotel, staff were very nice and helpful. The only thing that I was disappointed with was that they run out of coffee. Quite hard to believe for a hotel. I would consider going back though.

Toward the end of a recent, three-week trip in the UK, I checked into the Mercure Hotel in Perth, which cleverly occupies a former mill, complete with a waterwheel in the lobby! After experiencing similar chain hotels (without water wheels) in other cities (Bath, Birmingham, Sheffield, and Manchester), I felt that I have a sense for the industry standard, and the Perth Mercure easily rose to the top. The rooms are not as "slick" as others in more modern buildings, but none of my pet peeves found any room to grow. Plenty of accessible outlets, a phone, a kettle with instant coffee and milk, a really solid breakfast and, most importantly, a staff that seemed determined to make my stay a more positive experience. All my questions about Perth were fielded with no little knowledge of and pride in the city. There is only one thing that tripped me up at the Mercure: the spotty wifi reception in my room. Maybe it's a function of thick mill walls. To the credit of the staff, I was allowed to make use of a conference room in the hotel where the signal was strong. My recommendation for the property: invest in more in state-of-the-art Wifi. Then this review would be 6 out of 5!

Room, corridors and bar toilets are in very poor standard. Hotel needs a major revamp, everything looks like it’s been stuck in the 90s. Staff excellent and very helpful but unfortunately they deserve a lot better than this dump.

Excellent central location near the station and amenities, with a cool bit of history as a mill with the Perth Lade, visible through a viewing window in the reception floor, running under the building

The hotel looks very nice from the outside and impressive on reception level with the old mill and water running under the building. However, once in the room impressions changed!! The carpet was completely threadbare, ALL furniture had been painted battleship grey and could smell fumes from it. Don’t think the dressing table, bedside cabinet or bed had been moved recently to be cleaned behind them. The bed was very uncomfortable and pillows terrible! Bathroom was small with a shower over an old bath. Get more power from a water pistol than this shower, it was poor. All in all, this hotel is NOT worth the money. A certain budget hotel is nicer on the eye, more comfortable and cleaner with the same amenities and same price for breakfast and at half the price!!

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Restaurant was good for breakfast and typical pub food in the evenings in the bar. Good location with plenty of parking. Historical building with some interesting features. For summer travelers they do not have AC.

Rooms are old dirty and outdated. Bathroom is full of mold. Doors have huge gaps to hallways. Walls are paper thin, was woken up constantly. Do not stay here!

The breakfast has a good selection. The main areas of the hotel are nice but the rooms are very tired and need a refurb. It was disappointing not being able to get any food at 8.45pm. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Breakfast very good but second day was a bit tepid Curtains were moth eaten and cobwebs on curtains and ceiling. No bin liners in any of the bins Bar prices are expensive Staff are very attentive

Shower poor, room tired

The bed was the hardest I've ever slept in. It's a shame as it was such a huge bed, but the hardness meant myself and my partner were constantly waking up to try and get comfy to no avail. If you love hard beds then I guess this is great 😃

The hotel needs a re-furb.

I was in room 16 and the noise from the upper room was unbelievable for a hotel and it was only them walking around the floor was very loud lucky Im nit sure if you are aware of it , but it didn’t spoil my stay

I always stay here when I return to Perth. Its only a minute walk from where I was born, and is conveniently located.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and breakfast was lovely.
