Parking was an issue due to large function. Confusion over payment that was paid months in advabce. Overall a good stay, receptionist Ashleigh was very good.

Unfortunately when we tried to check in, there seemed to be trouble with the booking and they insisted I paid for the full room rate £147.90, but when I showed them the booking confirmation from yourselves that there was only a balance of £53.24 to pay, they couldn't understand it and there system also was giving problems. After a long wait (45 minutes) they eventually took payment of £53.24. But when I got to the room I then received notification from my bank that another £94.66 had been charged without my authorisation totaling the £147.90 they ask for at the start. I also received notification that the card saved with Hotels.com had also been charged £53.24 I went straight back to reception to ask for an explanation as to why they can take money without my authorisation and why anything had to be paid to start with, they said "the amount was being held as a deposit" which is the first time this was said to me and I've never had to do this before with any booking with yourselves in the past. They informed me it would be returned within 5 days, but I was on a budget and had already budgeted for this money for fuel back to Inverness and food for my family, but there was nothing that could be done as it had already been charged. Needless to say I was not very happy.

Overall the hotel was ok. There were a few marks on table and chair. The bath was very high and difficult to get into for a shower. The bed seemed smaller the advertised king size. The air con was great, especially after a very hot day. Service was excellent and staff were very helpful.

The stay was lovely. However despite getting the helpful man from reception to come and have a look at the air con unit that was only blowing hot air it was only a temporary fix. It kept going on and off during the night and ended up being extremely hot, humid and unable to sleep. This had a negative effect on the comfort rating.

Exemplary customer service. All staff very friendly and helpful. Very warm welcome and went out of their way to help us with queries.

The property is in a lovely location and very convenient for Chester Soon and Chester Oaks although we had a hire car. Very clean, comfortable room with 2 double beds and views over the canal. The blackout curtains are great and we both slept very well both nights. Very easy checkin and checkout.

Lolvey staff. Carpet could do with changing and windows cleaned . Starbucks is a great addition but should be discounted for guests. Outdoor area to sir and have a drink is so nice right next to the water and the beds are top tier

Everything was excellent except the window blind which was not well fitted making the room not to be dark at night and it was summer. I will definitely visit again but won't stay in that room

i loved my time at the hotel. I stayed with my fiance, for a short stay over the bank holiday. The staff were pleasant, the breakfast had a wide variety, and the room was immaculate. I also forgot my expensive headphones, which were kindly handed in! very rare to find such honesty. 5*
