There is a lovely spa and gym. The hotel has interesting rooms. The food is Ok, not so great for vegetarian. Some of the staff not as gracious as at other Handpicked Hotels

The staff were superb and couldn’t have done enough to help in so many ways - from Check-in to helping us with an early breakfast as we had to leave earlier than their normal hours on a Sunday. Our room on the top floor had beautiful views and lunch outside in the sun on the terrace was fabulous. Our only disappointment was that the bar food on a Saturday evening was poor - I am sure had we eaten in the restaurant it would have been fine but perhaps a different chef does the bar food - some was dry and overcooked and the fish and chips were soggy and disappointing. We should have said more at the time but were too polite. The spa was busy but nice, we didn’t spend much time in there as it was too crowded but that’s not anyone’s fault and is to be expected. We would go back for the quality of the staff alone.

Our third stay love it!

Rooms need updated. Very unlike most of their “ sister “ properties. Bathrooms poor shape and windows filthy. Exterior grounds in need of desperate tidying weeds all over and poorly exterior grounds keeping. Very disappointed with this hotel .. “ Handpicked “ hotel group is known for much superior interiors and exteriors than this one.

Fantastic team. Food ok. Not that much choice but fresh and tasty. Breakfast ok. Not vast choice, but enough to fill you up. Spa etc very good. Beautiful building. Spacious bedrooms

Staff in the breakfast room were delightful, the breakfast buffet had a good range and hot menu was delicious. The rooms were lovely and very quiet, you couldn't hear much noise from surroundings at all, spa was lovely too

Beautiful building, staff very friendly, pretty good gym, pool and spa. Breakfast was decent. Evening meal was nice, but vey expensive for what it was.

The lady at breakfast (sorry didn’t get her name but brunette, well spoken) was brilliant, fantastic service with a smile. The full English breakfast was incredible - compliments to the chef

Staff were amazing, the restaurant manager, Alfie and Caroline in the restaurant, stand out. But I have to say all the staff in every department couldn’t do enough. The property is amazing with amazing views across a beautiful valley. I had an exceptional breakfast two days running and Sunday lunch all of which were delicious and incredible value. The portions were superb and I was very full after every meal! I was in the Elliot suite which was amazing with lovely extra touches such as a stocked mini bar and hostess trolley with cocktails and all the equipment to make more! The bed was so comfortable and as I said before the views were amazing! I stay in lots of high end hotels and this is right up there with the best in my opinion, I will be back!

The staff were so helpful, polite and friendly.

Clean room, very comfy bed and pillows, water and milk in room fridge.

The staff were so lovely and despite disruption with other guests during our stay, the staff were so apologetic and gave us a late check out. The breakfast was lovely and the spa too.

Staff super friendly but hotel is looking very tired, rooms were very dated, one of the main lounge areas downstairs smelt of damp and the swimming pool area was also very dated. Room was very clean but there were some stains on the furniture... Restaurant was nice for dinner but expensive and not good value

Front desk staff not as friendly and proficient but the Bartender made up for it. I arrived about 10min before check in as was told to wait in bar. Other guest began to arrive so I went back to check in Front desk clerk checked in several reservations and when I made sure she could see im still waiting she said they're getting my room ready. Which was way at the end with no good view as requested. T.V. never had clear image as if they have poor satellite service. But of course we were there to enjoy the BEST COUPLES massage ! The pool area was very busy no one figured out how to turn on hot tub until I arrive and the bubbles were a bit weak and just warm.

Needs more staff serving the terrace non existent staff so orders were not taken not overly clean either
