Pigeons outside bedroom window making loads of noise the room was very hot we had a fan but it didn’t work properly and the hot water only came on in the morning and you couldn’t adjust the setting it was red hot.

My room was small and bed was uncomfortable and if bathroom light was on the fan noise was noisy

It’s 2:30 in the morning and I’m writing this email and I’ve had to complain to reception to to the noise of the people above us. They have been shouting and swearing since 10pm when they arrived back to their room. I have a 9 year old daughter and we both havnt slept since we went to bed at 9:30 pm. Absolute UNACCETPABLE

Lovely location. Check in was a nightmare trying to sort out the parking!!

Easy check in, pleasant staff, comfortable bed with nice linen. shower was crap going hot briefly then cold.

For the quality of the room, bed & facilities this hotel is well over priced. In need of updating.

Hot water supply intermittent in bathroom impossible to shower

Very good value. Bar staff super friendly. Taps in bathroom were reversed ie red cold and blue hot! Not really a problem but a bit odd!

Good location, Excellent communal areas. Rooms are very tired but functional. Parking can be difficult.

Lovely stay staff were also very good at reception and the cleaning lady was also lovely and also people coming and going were very friendly

Room was small even for a compact double, lots of cracked/chipped paintwork, stains on the walls, carpets etc. Hot water only worked intermittently so having a shower in the morning was difficult. Noisy corridors and could hear everything from other rooms, as well as loads of pigeons outside the window (and the sight of loads of dead ones on the floor around it). Noisy fan in the bathroom, shower was small. Staff were alright, some friendlier than others. The night porter was polite and nice, check in lady was a little terse about the parking but was okay. Overall not worth the money we paid, but convenient location for what we needed it for.

Staff were friendly and accomodating. Seth was kind enough to open the bar up for us and serve us a nightcap.

The rooms do not look like the photograph. We left straight away - the bed was old and decoration was poor and looked like under repair. We wanted hot water for a shower and they said you have to run the water for 20 mins in order to get hot water! I suggested to hotels.com to remove this property.

Not to much cleaning and the problem is whit to shower ! I need to wait a lot to have a shower because the water is coming really cold most of the time!😒😒😒

A friend and I had a lovely stay at this Westcliff Hotel having enjoyed an evening at the theatre nearby. Room had a sea view, twin beds were comfortable, breakfast was good, bar service was good, staff lovely and friendly. Bedding and towels were clean, toiletries were provided, walk in shower nice and hot. Sadly though like a lot of our seaside hotels, it is very 'tired' and needs some refurbishment. Have stayed here before and would stay again - will remember my plug for charger next time as sockets not updated with USB connections!

The hotel is in need of some refurbishment, the mattress on the bed was also quite worn. The staff are super friendly we couldn’t fault them at all. If you want a cheap hotel for the night then this should be ok !

Abit of a disappointment! Postives: Friendly service Decent size rooms, bathroom was big. In a good location Superior rooms come with lovely sea view Comfy beds Negatives: Cleanliness was lacking! Smears down side of wardrobe, bathroom with mould, although the seaview was lovely the outside of windows were so dirty you couldnt see out very well. We found a beer bottle lid on the floor as soon as we walked in, so it was obviously not cleaned well between customers! The restaurant is very expensive compared to the quality of the food, would recommend if you do stay you eat elsewhere. Dated decor, paintwork chipped on walls. Just overall feels like this hotel is trying to be something its not! Due to the dirty scruffy feel we would not recommend and unfortunately wouldnt stay again, which is disappointing due to its close location to beach, town and cliff pavillion
