I visited Lyon with my daughter for a few days and picked the hotel due to its close proximity to the attractions we planned on visiting. I’ll start with the positives. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful for the duration. The room was huge with 2 giant comfortable beds,a great shower, safe and most importantly air conditioning as the temperature was around 36-38 for our stay. The area around the hotel felt safe and was a short walk to the attractions. The river was close to the hotel and lovely to sit after dinner with an ice cream.
The only negatives I found were a guest travelling with a dog left the poor thing one afternoon to bark and howl alone. This happened on 2 occasions and I notified reception as I had concerns that it had enough water during the heat. One evening around 22:00 the barking started again. Again I approached reception to resolve the matter. I requested to change rooms as the noise was disturbing my stay. The request was met and we enjoyed the rest of our visit. I did mention to the hotel that if they offer pet friendly rooms that they ensure owners take responsibility and not leave their pets alone in very hot weather! Also it’s the hotel’s responsibility to ensure guests aren’t disturbed by a dogs incessant barking. My only other gripe is the hotel’s policy of taking a €280 deposit in case we used the restaurant etc. The deposit is taken and refunded quickly after check out. Considering this I’d probably stay here again.
