Good room nothing fancy. Breakfast is great although weak coffee. The towels are so worn and grey. That would really help if they were new. Staff is very nice. The vibe is older.

Great little unpretentious hotel right on the beach. Stayed in February and 99% of the other guests are retired snowbirds from up north that spend a few months here during the winter. Super friendly margaritaville type crowd.

From checkin to checkout and everything in between - zero complaints. Checkin was friendly, fast and efficient, the room was clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable. Housekeeping kept the rooms stocked, clean and tidy. On my first day there I had lost an earring without being aware of it. The next day, there was my earring by the sink - they had found it on the floor and set it in plain sight for me to find. The restaurant staff did such a great job. The service was top notch and they made you feel welcome. After a couple days they remembered your name and room number. Utilizing the pool and beach amenities along the most beautiful beach was a bonus. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Simple but very clean room, staff wonderful. Being able to walk right out to the beach and watch the ocean and beach from the hotel and restaurant is wonderful

Room was clean, A/C worked cold and quiet, pools were great, can’t beat beachfront location, excellent walking beach. Great selection of food all day, staff very pleasant. Water dispensers were very handy since there is no fridge in rooms. Love the old world Mexican vibe and decor. Not the newest resort on La Ropa but also not the most expensive. Stores, restaurants, bars, water toys, taxi stand, shopping…all near by. Good value

Beachside at La Ropa. Has pool and on-site restaurant. Hard to beat. Ocean side or pool side rooms are much better than Garden side rooms. Great service

The room was in good condition, although having the sink outside the bathroom wasn’t great. The Wi-Fi was a little slow, but the staff in general couldn’t have been nicer.

Great spot on La Ropa beach. Lots of chairs around the grounds. Nice pool as well as well as 2 smaller plunge pools. The smaller pools never had any one in them. Room was basic but ok. Had 2 twin beds. Would be really nice to have a fridge. Got the breakfast package and food was really good. Ate a lunch and some snacks here and was also good. Prices have gone up for food and drinks. Lots of restaurants and a couple of stores close by. Overall I enjoyed it and would recommend. Beautiful view out front. Ocean is very swimable here.

Hotel was clean, comfortable, and beautiful. Location is right on the best beach in the area, where the waves are calm, great for swimming. The area is quiet and peaceful. There is a mountain between the hotel and downtown area, so you will need transportation to access shopping, the pier, and other dining options. This hotel is the most accessible in the area if you have any walking difficulties, as most other hotels are built into the cliff side and have a lot of stairs. If you get a ground floor room you will have easy access to the pools, restaurant, and beach. The food in the restaurant is delicious, especially the breakfast! The staff is wonderful. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

Was so happy with our choice of staying at villa mexicana! The property was well looked after, rooms were clean, staff extremely friendly and helpful. Being right on the beach was amazing, listening to the waves crashing on the pristine beach at night was the best way to fall asleep. Many of the guests we met are repeat visitors - which speaks highly for villa mexicana - location is perfect - many choices for eating within walking distance and hotel had great food. Beach was fabulous and ocean waves were okay to play in. Will be back for sure!
