It was a welcome retreat after days in large chain hotels. Felt like we had been transported to a simpler time.

Perfect location, helpful staff, very clean. Basic breakfast included was tasty, though a bit limited. Pleasant terrace adjacent to dining area for breakfast or relaxation. Bed a bit firm for my tastes, but overall would not hesitate to stay again and definitely recommend Fife & Drum.

The Fife and Drum is a charming inn right in the middle of Colonial Williamsburg. It’s a little old and creaky, but that’s part of the rustic experience. My wife and I would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable and convenient. Felt more like a small hotel than a B&B.

Very nice B&B! The proprietors take great care to ensure their guests are comfortable. Fife and Drum’s location makes it very easy to walk to everything you want to see in Williamsburg. I would recommend without hesitation.

I've been to Williamsburg several times and The Fife & Drum is my favorite place to stay. The location is perfect to explore Colonial Williamsburg and the campus of W&M. The owners and staff make you feel so welcome and at home. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, comfortable and have all the amenities you need for your stay. I'm already planning my next stay!

Great stay at Fife and Drum. Very quaint Inn in the heart of Colonial Williamsburg. Able to walk everywhere. Our host Bill was charming, informative and very helpful. Coffee and a variety of breakfast items served in dining area. Would definitely recommend a stay there!

Proximity to the colonial area of Williamsburg is a big plus for this Inn. But also to the lovely restaurants of Dog St. and Merchant Square. We had excellent lodgings in a lovely relaxed environment on the second floor of one of the retail bulidings on the corner. If you cannot climb stairs, this Inn is not for you, but otherwise, I believe anyone would enjoy the coffee area, good beds, and quaint surroundings and colonial themed furnishings of the rooms and the breakfast/lobby area.

I have stayed at this property several times, and I will continue to stay here whenever I am in Williamsburg. The rooms are neat, clean, and comfortable. The rooftop patio area is divine. You can't beat the location for walkability to the historic area and Market Square shops. The continental breakfast is ample, but if you want a full breakfast there is a divine coffee shop next door. My only suggestion is that the TV sets should be replaced with ones that have larger screens, but who comes to Williamsburg to watch tv?

I expected much more for the price, almost $400 for 3 adults it was shabby, tired, and there was no real breakfast. It was not dirty but impossible/inadequate for 3 adults. Uncomfortable. Inn keeper was kind.

The photo of the property on their website is misleading, it shows a corner building which leads you to think the entire building is the Inn. After finally locating the Inn which is only identifiable via a small flag, you are faced with a steep staircase (17) steps to enter the Inn which is on the second floor of the building. We were an older couple and had to carry our luggage up and down the steep staircase (not mentioned in the website). What would a handicapped person do? False advertising at its worse. Also, housekeeping service was only available if you requested it,fortunately we had otherwise we would have to make our own bed and replace towels on our own. What a ripoff. Also the room and tv were miniscule, the tv was about a 10 inch screen, shall I go on?
