A lovely room in a great location! A great breakfast too!

Clean rooms. Service was good. No slippers, no bathrobe in the room. Great location.

A large breakfast buffet which included hot food, a big bathroom with a large sink and plush towels, friendly staff, and convenient location. I had read there was some sort of shuttle arrangement at the hotel for a cost, but that isn’t true. They will reserve a taxi for you, but that’s it.

The room was lovely and spacious. Although the cot was missing, the bed was fine for one night. The bathroom was great and the whole space was comfortable. Thank you!

The issue with this property was that after a very late arrival, close to 1am, we were given a room that wasn't clearly set for guests. No bedsheets or towels and the room had not been cleaned. We had stayed here multiple times and as per usual we had advised them of the late arrival to ensure there was no question of us not turning up and risking the room we booked being given to someone else. But to our surprise and after a long journey and arriving with a child, we still had to go through this experience. Simply unacceptable.

This was the most unwelcoming of hotels, had an Email the day before saying check in was at 12:00, arrived at 13:00 to be told very rudely to come back later, very rude and dismissive, and then being made to sit in reception for a hour. Not normally a problem if done politely, this was anything but. Manned by two very moody reception staff. Hotel is aged and looks to be from the late 90s. Pretends to be high end but in reality is just old. It was clean and location is good. Some traffic noise from road and windows are all single glazed. By far the worse stay on the Camino and this was booked as a treat to finish with. Avoid

The staff at Hotel Compostela were kind and helpful, which I appreciated. My room was decent overall, but the bed was so firm it felt like I was sleeping on the floor. I was also surprised to find dusty, dirty hallway floors, and some of that tracked into my room — it didn’t feel like it had been cleaned properly before my arrival. Oh, and the gnats in my room even had me guessing how others could possibly rate this hotel a five star? I had really been looking forward to staying here as a way to wrap up my last night in Santiago with a more upscale experience and a bit of pampering. For the price I paid and after reading so many positive reviews, I expected something special. Instead, my stay felt just average, which left me a disappointed.

The hotel and staff were very nice. Neat, clean and conveniently located to the center of town. Parking was difficult but that is due to the city, not the hotel. The room was very quiet and well appointed.

I wish we could have stayed longer.
