Great location and really good value! We had the top floor suite with 2 double beds and 1 queen bed, plus a large rooftop terrace which provided fabulous views of the city. The rooms are pretty dated, and the tv was too small for the room and quite far from the beds for viewing. Would have liked a few more towels provided as well. Front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful, and parking was easy to access. Overall a good place to stay and enjoy the city!

Great location (10-15 min walk to Canada Place), and rooms were clean and well-maintained, but it's definitely an older property. Very handy to have a kitchenette included if traveling with a small family. There was a moderate amount of street noise in the main bedroom, which might bother some. If you've stayed in non-corporate hotels in Europe then you know what to expect.

Good location. Very dated rooms, but quite specious. Poor noise protection. They provide the kitchen, but plates are locked unless you call to unlock, stove is not turned on unless you pay $25/day. See if you are lucky with neighbours - it could ruin your stay like happened to us - on Saturday night we had noisy unit in front of us - till 3:50 am people were shouting and slamming the doors. Hotel eventually managed to calm them down, but declined to provide us with any refund for the spoilt night for my family with kids.

I had an absolute blast staying at Hotel Opportune! The room was sparkling clean, incredibly spacious with two separate bedrooms, and offered a value for money that is hard to beat in Vancouver. The ocean view from the room was simply breathtaking! Location-wise, it is perfectly situated in downtown, making it super convenient to walk around and explore all the main spots in the city. On top of the fantastic room and location, what truly sets this hotel apart is its exceptional staff. I accidentally left my jacket behind in my room after checking out, and the front desk team went above and beyond to help me ship it safely via UPS. Their kind, swift, and warm assistance made a lasting impression on me. I will definitely be recommending Hotel Opportune to all my Korean friends and travelers visiting Vancouver, and I will 100% stay here again on my next trip. Thank you for making my stay so unforgettable!

We paid nearly 1000 USD for 3 nights at this hotel. Upon arrival, we were stunned at the condition of our room. Every surface is sticky and heavily worn. Although technically "clean", running a mop and a rag over years of heavy wear and use is not sufficient for a hotel in this price range. We stayed at the hotel for less than 12 hours as we truly did not feel comfortable sleeping here, but were forced to pay for 3 nights. The hotel manager, Diana, refused to refund part of the stay quoting "policy", although according to expedia, she had the authority to do so. Understandably upset at losing hundreds of dollar, we let Diana know we would be leaving a review about our experience, which is response she claimed we were "threatening her", which is a gross misuse of that term, and inappropriate given the situation. We're two blocks away at a similarly priced hotel an are astounded at the difference in quality and service. Stay away from hotel opportune.

Great location in the heart of town and walkable distance to the harbor. The room was very large with plenty of space. Although small, the balcony was a nice touch.

Small but well set up kitchen area and bathroom. Walls very thin... Could hear the neighbours arriving and leaving. Young lady at desk 3-11pm was extremely helpful and great to chat to. Overall a really convenient location for restaurants, Gastown and Stanley park and very reasonable price. Also good onsite parking for downtown Vancouver.

Booked this hotel based on earlier traveler reviews but disappointed with the cleanliness though the hotel is located close to port, all downtown attractions, restaurants. Good - Booked a 2 BR/1Bath suite with kitchen/dinning and a small balcony which is big and was not expecting such roomy place. Hotel provided complimentary bottled water and coffee maker. We didn't use kitchen/stove but I believe it attracts extra $25. Complimentary baggage storage is provided. Bad - We are hoping for an early checkin as we are coming from cruise trip but had to wait past check in time to get into our room. Paint stains on the bed linen. Bathroom is bad with cracked sink, stained faucet/drains(didn't clean properly), Water spilling all over floor when sink is used. Shower head is disgusting with rust. Not expecting this kind of poor sanitation. Did informed the staff but they didn't do anything except making a note. I'd think twice for any future stays at this place after this experience.

Small room, dirty, towels dirty, charged to use an old stove, charged to wash dishes! Close to Stanley Park and Hop on/off bus stop but not much anywhere near touristy things. Location 8/10. They make you charge a CREDIT CARD, NOT DEBIT for a hold. I don’t even have a credit card and it was a mess! Staff didn’t know a thing about public transport.

We stayed for 2 nights before our cruise. We walked to the cruise dock the day before but took a cab with our bags when it was time. This was a very good hotel that appears to be a converted apartment building. It was not modern, but it was spacious and adequate in every way. The location was great. Easy walk to restaraunts and the waterfront. The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. Located in the West End part of town, the view from the balcony was great and overall it was very quiet.

I liked the cleanness and management, just it was a bit odd that for using some appliances in the kitchen we had to pay extra.

The rooms are noisy because the doors are not sealed well. The hallways are tile and do not dampen sound like carpet would, so when the heavy doors are shut, it reverberates loudly. Bring earplugs if you don’t want to wake up to jarring noise of doors slamming all night. The property is pretty run down with lots of wear and stains. It’s hard to tell if all the stains are permanent or if some of it is just grime that could be cleaned. It certainly didn’t feel clean.

Small rooms. Some areas need to be repainted. Stove, but no pots or pans. The Keurig and coffee was good, but no creamer, just something called "whitener." Very friendly staff. No elevator.

Pros: location, large rooms with multiple beds, kitchenette, full size fridge. Not bad view for the price. Cons: very old building so things can look quite dirty/dingy even after cleaning. Only one small elevator so sometimes you have to wait a while. No chairs on the tiny balcony so I had to drag a dining chair onto the balcony when I wanted to sit out there. The rooms could use little upgrades like a soap dish for your bar soap and hooks for the towels, if I wanted to use a towel again there was nowhere to hang it to dry. Overall my stay was good but it felt more like renting someone's old apartment rather than a hotel room. No amenities available. Staff was pleasant but I had to request more towels three times before finally receiving them 5 hours later. That said, if you're a family looking for a room with lots of space and a kitchen to do some cooking and don't need anything fancy, this place would be good.
