Staff very helpful and polite. Breakfast and lunch snacks reasonable, tasty and plentiful. Was disappointed to have a small double sized bed and nothing bigger available. Given the room size I’m sure the beds could be larger. My husband suffers a bad back and I have recently had a stroke. In my opinion an executive room would at a minimum have a king size bed.

This hotel is nice enough but needs investment and to examine its pricing structure. It looks and feels dated. Everything was 'okay'. Clean with good staff, but the food and rooms were average at best and extremely overpriced. The most annoying thing for me was that a pint of lemonade and lime was more expensive than any of the pints of beer. That is simply wrong. I had an Executive Room. This just means that your room is in the original house rather than the annex. Again, it was 'okay', but was dated and very, very small. I confirmed at reception that it was an Executive Room. The receptionist had obviously been asked this before as they weren't surprised in the slightest by my asking. My friends who had standard rooms had larger, better rooms and paid less. I would normally pay half the price for this type of room. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night. It was very average and very expensive. Portions were small and the taste nothing special. We agreed we would not eat there on our second night. We went to a local pub which is 5 minutes walk away. The meal was delicious and less than half the price. Breakfast, likewise, was average. I've never seen so many differently sized plates stacked for use by the customers. It is a breakfast buffet, and it was luke warm. If I had paid half the amount for this hotel, I would have been pleased and given it a good review, but, as it stands, it is way overpriced, average and I would not stay there again.

Not a bad hotel by any means. Was a bit disappointed in the pool area and staff at the pool was a bit pre occupied talking to her friend. Room was decent and breakfast nice. Would stay again as the price was pretty good.

We visited the Chilworth Manor Hotel for our mini moon after we got married. The receptionist was very rude and abrupt when we arrived to pay before our wedding (before we got married) and made us feel unwelcome from the get go. We had booked an executive room which isn’t the cheapest room in the property and we were placed in a dark and dingy room with dark patches and holes on the netted curtain (room 6) clearly not the mini moon we expected however as we arrived at 1 am we were unable to switch rooms. Sadly we will not be staying again and has left a very sour taste after what was the best days of our lives.

Ideal location to visit daughter at uni and have her leave halls for a night and spend time with us and her little brother. Chose the hotel for the grounds and that it looked peaceful. Although as it happens halls might have been more sedate! Stayed on a Saturday night. Event on site. Loud music, raging arguments in corridors / bedrooms adjacent to the 3 rooms we booked. Loud s”x, underpants in the car park the next morning and other detritus, glasses of beer etc The irony was having to pay a £15 surplus for a well behaved small dog.

We had a mixed experience at Chilworth Manor, but the staff really made the difference. Initially, we were checked into a very small, basic room. The walls were in need of a fresh coat of paint and it felt quite tired. To make things difficult, we were placed right next to a couple with two dogs—which wasn’t ideal as we were staying with a baby. Thankfully, the staff were lovely when we raised our concerns. They were very understanding and moved us to a larger room, which we really appreciated. It made the rest of our stay far more comfortable. The hotel has a nice bar area with a good atmosphere. We also enjoyed using the pool; however, it’s worth noting that it seems to be run as a separate business rather than being exclusive to the hotel. It was quite busy during our visit because of children's swimming lessons taking up a lane alongside the regular swimmers, but it was still a nice facility to have access to.
