Pills scattered across the floor, filthy carpet, dirty empty used toilet paper roll, and no extra toilet paper. Hotel refuses to refund any money.

I would rate my stay a 6/10. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, but the overall guest experience fell short because of the customer service and the breakfast. The staff were polite, but they weren't particularly warm or welcoming. First impressions matter, and while the front desk employee who came to fix my TV was able to resolve the issue quickly, he wasn't very personable. A friendly conversation and a welcoming attitude go a long way and reflect positively on your establishment. My biggest disappointment was the included breakfast. As someone with celiac disease, I was surprised that there were no safe gluten-free options available. In 2026, many hotels offer at least one gluten-free choice, but everything on the buffet was subject to cross-contamination. One of the breakfast servers was very kind and genuinely tried to help, but there simply wasn't anything that was safe for me to eat, and no separate preparation was offered. As a result, a breakfast that was included in the cost of my room had no value to me. I would encourage the hotel to train staff so they understand common food allergies and celiac disease and can confidently answer guests' questions about what is safe to eat. Even offering a few individually packaged gluten-free items or preparing food separately would make a significant difference for guests with dietary restrictions. Overall, the hotel has potential, but improving customer service and making the breakfast more inclusive would be nice.

This is a beautiful, rustic hotel in a convenient location. We stayed last year and as well and found the staff not as friendly this year. Pool is lovely, great breakfast and the room was very big. However, it had a weird smell (room 202) that I tried to get rid of with my peppermint halo. No microwave in the room this year either. Overall, enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

The hotel may appear dated to some people, but I think that it’s meant to be that way. We loved it! Everything was very clean, all staff were friendly, and the included hotel breakfast was definitely the best along our road trip! We did not use the pool due to weather, but it looked nice.

We stayed for 1 night in a room with fireplace and A/C. I'd say, if stepping into late 1970 to early 1980 is your thing then you'll like it. Bed was comfy with clean bedding but bed skirt needs to be replaced. Now bathroom. It had everything we needed, clean towels, shampoos, soap, make-up remover etc. Tiles in shower had black stains on grout. Breakfast were ok. Roasted potatoes were delicious. But again, we missed assortment of local cheeses, localy made breads, seasonal local vegetables and fruits, bacon perhaps.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Check-in was quick and the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a bit dated but well maintained and I was very pleased with my room. It felt like "home". Fireplace, books on the shelf, It had everything I needed. The room itself and bathroom were very clean. The bed was so comfortable and the towels and bedding smelled so fresh! Thanks to the laundry staff! I was on the first floor, east side and it was very quiet. Buffet breakfast had a nice selection of hot and cold items, coffee, tea, juices, etc. Lunch at Tom's Place was really good. A must try. What stood out the most was all the staff at the hotel. They went out of their way to make you feel at home. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed in a double queen room. It had enough space for everyone. The room seemed clean. Staff were always friendly and check in was easy. We did not use the outdoor pool. Breakfast buffet had choices we could all enjoy. Beds were comfortable. We all enjoyed our stay.

I booked a standard room, so I can’t comment on the more upscale rooms the hotel offers. My experience, however, was, without a doubt, one with plenty of room for improvement. The hotel is clearly outdated, and the air conditioning in our room was extremely old and very noisy. There was also no body wash provided in the bathroom. The breakfast was quite limited, although it was decent. In my opinion, paying $425 for a room at this hotel is completely out of proportion to what it offers. Based on our experience, it would be difficult for us to stay here again on our next visit.

Unaccomodating and dirty

Great for the price, very nice staff at the hotel ans the restorant.

Black mold in wall AC unit, like a lot of it. We turned it off so that it wouldn't blow it in the room, but it's bad enough that I wish I didn't stay there. Staff is incredibly unaccomodating.

Good location, quiet rooms, nice staff from front desk to cleaning crew to breakfast team all with a smile and helpful. Really like this location.

The stay was excellent. The room was very clean and it had a fireplace in it. The staff were very helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast.

Stayed here many times, always enjoyable. However on check in I was surprised we could not check in until 3:00! That was the posted time but all I wanted was to check in then leave my bags until 3:00. I was told no exceptions in what I considered a very abrupt and rude way. I have done that at hotels around the world, but not here. With two grandkids hoping to get to the pool they were very disappointed. Then at 3:00 we arrived back at the hotel and went to the back of a long line because nobody could check in before 3:00. Thinking of the customer. I think not!! Once checked in, every thing was very good.

The room was very clean, and the food was perfect. Would be happy to stay on my next visit to Kingston.
