Long long looooong corridors before getting to my room, not well shown where the rooms are located

The hotel seems large and a bit of a maze, but we liked our room, especially with a little balcony to look over the river. The hotel is very nicely situated, right by the river with plenty of walking opportunities nearby. The breakfast had a huge variety as well. The fitness center was a bit cramped unfortunately with limited though decent equipment. Make sure to pre-book parking if needed, though we used an offsite lot and that worked fine. The spa seemed to be busy but we weren’t able to check it out this trip. I don’t know if I will ever make it back here, but if I do I would stay at this hotel again.

The food was good and the room was really clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only issue was the room got really warm, but you could request a fan if you wanted one, which was nice.

Awesome hotel!

Karlstad is a jewel. Beautiful small city. Walkable and the scenery around the city is spectacular. Breakfast was excellent. Pub and restaurant outstanding. Room smartly designed. Very professional and efficient staff. Will return!

Checking in was fast and easy—staff torally prepared. It’s at the heart of an old Swedish town so parking was a couple blocks away at the public library pay lot. Inexpensive, easy and there was plenty of short term parking in front of the hotel for check in. Our stay was short.

Karlstad is a lovely place and the hotel was extremely comfortable. Fabulous breakfast buffet.

Overall very nice. Parking is a bit of a bother especially in the rain being so far.

River-view room was spacious enough with sound-proof windows, which helped since the room is above the outdoor bar area. Comfy bed and pillows, excellent breakfast included. Make sure you get confirmation of your parking if booking it. We requested parking months before with our booking, only to be told that none was reserved as we had not been given confirmation. Their fault apparently, but no solution provided other than to go somewhere else a few blocks away. If you want to use the spa area, you need to pay extra and book a time slot days before you arrive. Rooftop pool area is free, though. Food at Bishops Arms Hotel is excellent and a has great ambience.

Small room, not worth the price. Breakfast is good, the location is fine, though there is very limited parking at the hotel. Dining was merely OK. If you can find something better, take it.
