The location the best thing about the resort. Every moment was about trying to up sale us from the moment we checked in. All inclusive should be called all excluded. Service is based on the color of wrist band they put on you. The civichira is $50/day PP, premium drink $50/day PP. if you want to upgrade from a basic room to a room with view it’s $100 per night. All of the food was a disappointment, we went out of the resort to eat, drink and for entertainment. The resort shuts down at 10pm. When departing from the resort with our luggage, we were ordered by security that we had to return and check out. They chased us down to our taxi cab. I would have to say if you don’t comply and buy everything they try to upsale you are treated like. Second class guest.

This was my second time staying at Mia Reef. They are well known for their beautiful location in Playa Norte. We did the all inclusive at this resort. The food is subpar. We were expecting better quality. The outside dining area has a lot of birds they fly around you and leave excrement on tables, chairs and floors. They need to have someone solely responsible for the cleanliness of that area. They are also a good 15-20 minute walk to everything in town. You definitely would want to rent a golf cart to get around. Mia offers a golf cart rental but they upscale the price. We chose Mia because of the location- you can’t beat it! If you’re looking to be “Wowed “ this resort is not the place.

We just spent 5 days at MIA, the staff was great and the location of the resort and beaches are unbeatable. My only complaint is the rooms are very outdated and the bathrooms are small. I would definitely do another trip to this resort for sure.

Wonderful staff! Beautiful warm calm beach. Rooms area need work, basic but clean. Would love to see a bit more nightly entertainment and more daily activities. Food was pretty decent, great staff.

Not a great hotel!! - Hotel exterior is crumbling, rooms in need of refresh. - The booking system for the 2 seated restaurants is antiquated and annoying. Having to wait in line to book something the next night or you are out of luck is awful. If you aren’t there 20 minutes early you are not getting a table. - Annoying sales staff trying to sell you time shares or VIP memberships. - This was Mexico, have MEXICAN food!!! - We had someone in our group that has multiple severe food allergies and has stayed here previously with kitchen management being very helpful, one of the main reasons we picked this location. This time the kitchen management was not helpful in the slightest. They provided no assistance and seemed more bothered than anything else. - Wedding on site is all about the up sale of additions to your wedding to make them the most amount of money off you. Wedding planner was not attentive. - After the wedding the bride and groom rented a catamaran for an hour sunset cruise. Boat bilge stopped working, boat started to fill with water. Boat members spent an hour replacing bilge. Management did not care about our safety or concerns after the cruise. Bride and groom spent last 4 days of trip arguing with management. They agreed to refund 300.00 which has not happened. Manager even said if we were VIP members this would never have happened as he would have taken care of us personally. What a joke. This hotel does not care about guest safety. Do not stay here.

We stayed at Mia Reef Isla Mujeres for five nights. Check-in on Monday was a bit uncomfortable and unwelcoming. After settling into our room, we discovered that a key electrical outlet wasn’t working. Since there was no phone in the room, we had to walk back to the lobby to request a repair and were told maintenance would be sent. Unfortunately, no one showed up — not after the first request, nor after two additional follow-ups over the next two days. Eventually, we gave up. A similar pattern of poor follow-through occurred when we requested extra towels and again when we asked for complimentary decaffeinated Nespresso pods after they were not restocked. As for the dining, the two “step-up” restaurants — the Cevichería and María’s — seemed more like "step-downs" compared to the buffet. Finally, the colony of terns inexplicably moved from their Sanctuary to just outside our villa, might have brought a smile to Alfred Hitchcock’s face, though not necessarily ours.

The beach was beautiful, and the bartenders were great. Not the best food at the resort, but there is strip full of restaurants right down the road. The deluxe villa ocean view room did not disappoint. The view was beautiful.

The location is fantastic. Best beach you can ask for steps away from your room. Staff very helpful. Good options for food - breakfast is probably the best with multitude of juices, fruit and hearty items. Get past the timeshare sales that is offered upon arrival and you will have a great vacation.

We had an excellent time at the Mia Reef Isla Mujeres resort. The property is quite unique as it is located on its own little piece of the island, but it is really accessible by foot to the main town area as well. (You can walk from the ferry or take a quick taxi, its really that close!). The beach is not very big, BUT it is really easy to access the water; this is a great place for amateur snorkeling for all ages. We saw a lot of fish in the water. It is also very safe for non-swimmers and children because the water is very shallow around most of the beach area. Great for floaties too! The room was spacious and well equipped. The amenities were good. The only issue we faced was some drainage problem in the shower in our room, but it was nothing major. The food was very good and varied over our stay. The drinks were great too, with a wide variety. We would like to give a special shout out to the concierge, Arturo, for his kindness and attention to us. All of the bar and restaurant staff were absolutely exceptional as well; they were kind, attentive and fun to be around. Thank you all! We highly recommend this resort for young families and couples of all ages!

This resort is all about the water access. The food was better than 2 years ago and the restaurant staff are all wonderful. The drinks are always made too strong and there needs to be an actual margarita mix used for a “regular” margarita.
