The Scandic Uplandia is around 10 minute walk from Upplsala railway station. The rooms are reasonably large with a good bathroom and shower. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of hot and cold options. There is also a gym and sauna. The gym is quite small, but everything was in good working order. Overall, an excellent hotel, which was also very good value.

I liked that this property was right in the middle of Uppsala. It was really easy to get around to see other things, and there were many great food options available surrounding the hotel. Our rooms were very big in comparison to other hotels we had in Sweden. However, there was no refrigerator in our room. I'm not sure if we had to ask for one or not.

Breakfast here was good, and staff offered a ginger shot one morning. The room was noisy. The bedrooms have single beds, i booked separately an extra night stay in a double room, but was asked to pay extra at the reception. Pillows are small.

I ordered an upgraded room and all of the photos on the internet showed upgraded rooms. Unfortunately we did not get an upgraded room and instead got a room that is in very much need of a renovation. But I think that they are renovating all of the rooms, it just takes time. It was just frustrating to get a worn out room when there were some rooms renovated and it did not say in any of the information. The lobby, bar and breakfast area were very nice and beautifully renovated. Hopefully if we stay here next time everything will be ready.

The best part of this hotel is the location. Easy walk to anything you might want to see downtown Uppsala. There was no heat in the room, but after calling the front desk, they promised a portable heater to be brought when the front desk shift changed. That wasn't good enough, so I went downstairs to get the heater, and they then brought it up immediately. It worked well. The elevator to the garage is a serious pain the butt. You have to pull open a door, with a lot of force before the elevator sliding door is accessible. Same when you get out, you have to push the outer door open with a lot of force, which is difficult when you have two heavy luggage bags with you. Also, when leaving the hotel the last time, you don't have any room key anymore, so you cannot activate the elevator to the basement to get to your car. Another pain in the butt. You have to exit the elevator through that heavy door and go ask for a spare key, and then get back in, and then throw the key away after you have gotten to your car. Not very green, with no really benefit to security either. There is a sauna the elevator goes to as well, perhaps that is why there is such security on that elevator. The breakfast was the second best of seven hotels in Sweden and Germany we stayed at. Normal cold cuts and so on, but a great selection, not oversalted. The trash can in the bathroom was another pain. You had to open with one hand, and put the trash in the other. Why not a foot operated lid?

Very dated hotel. Stayed in an few Scandia hotels and this one has been the lowest standard. Not cheap either in comparison to others I have stayed in Uppsala. Room was over powered by the huge air con system. The bathroom was tired and needed work. Whiles walls were very thin and you could hear everyone. Breakfast was ok and staff were ok.

Location was great . Breakfast was a very good buffet. Beds were comfortable. Staff was fantastic. Lacking in closet space and bathroom hooks/ hangers etc. Very small but relatively comfortable room. Not enough pillows & very small pillows also.

Ten minute wait at reception.Only one receptionist. No apology for the wait and no smile. When you book a twin room you would expect the beds to be more than 20cm apart. Two people, four nights. Four hangers, no drawers or cupboards for clothes. Only a place for one suitcase. Swedish minimalism taken perhaps a little too far. Ideal for a short business trip, less so for a leisure vacation. Great bathroom. Fabulous breakfast.

Stayed for 3 nights with my mum and sister while visiting my son who lives and studies in Uppsala. We were all very comfortable and found everything more than satisfactory. Especially grateful to a member of staff who helped me to my room in a wheelchair when I became unwell at breakfast on my first morning. Nothing to do with the food!

The hotel is very conveniently located to shopping and restaurants. It is a couple of blocks from the train station but it wasn't a bad walk even with our luggage. The rooms are quite small but we had an amazing view of the Uppsala Cathedral from our window! The breakfast buffet was delicious. We would stay here again.
