Lovely stay in a period hotel. Staff, food and our room were lovely as were the hotel grounds. Parts of the property are in need of a bit of TLC but it didn’t affect our stay in any way and we would stay there again.

Lovely hotel in high victorian/Edward inn style. It was very busy because it was the Great Yorkshire Show week. The staff were very friendly in the bar but the reception staff seemed a bit pushed with how busy it was.

Generally the stay was great - the hotel seems to be incredibly warm, and in the heat it wss difficult to keep the room cool. We did request a fan from reception which they brought straight up. The bed whilst the app states double when booking wss not a full double in size so was very cramped trying to sleep. No lock on the inside of the room either which had I been alone I would have asked to be moved.

The staff were amazing, they were welcoming, friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. The room was clean and tidy to an excellent standard. The menu had a great selection including breakfast choices, main meals and snacks. Thank you for making our visit a happy and fun experience.

The poor ol building is in need of some tlc. I don’t think maintenance is top priority. Our room was great a lil tired but we were very comfy. We would stay again Food was ok and everything was tidy

Great hotel for the price. A bit tired in area but given its age and history, understandable. Nothing not to like, easy parking, friendly staff, clean rooms, everything you need and close to Harrogate :)

The check in team were very friendly. The hotel is a short walk into town. Car park is large and plenty of spaces if you get there early enough. The hotel does need smartening up. The bath room was a little grubby with mould in the shower. Towels also grubby on both days. We did speak to reception but a towel change gave us more dirty towels. No usb sockets so bring your own charger. Breakfast decent but staff a little too attentive. There was a hot buffet but you could not help yourself. Decent selection of items. Will use again due to price, parking and decent quality of sleep.

Ideal location for us, just a short 10-min walk to the town centre. Our room was spacious and bathroom appeared recently renovated. Staff were very friendly and helpful. As it is a very old building, the floorboards were a bit creaky and woodwork (skirting boards, window frames, architraves) looked tired with their years of layered paint, but we had a comfortable stay. The free parking was a bonus.

Helpful, pleasant reception staff. Room decor dated but clean, comfy bed, lots of on-site car parking close to city centre. Plenty of options in restaurant.

I recently stayed at this hotel and was quite disappointed. The hotel was quite old and lacked air conditioning, making it very uncomfortable, especially during hot weather. Unfortunately it was my fault that I didn’t check it beforehand. There were also no power plugs near the bed, which was inconvenient for charging devices. Overall, sleeping was nearly impossible due to the heat. I would not recommend this hotel unless significant updates are made.

Don't go in the summer. I've been in colder saunas. Also having booked a family room for 2 adults and 1 baby I'm not sure why they didn't provide a cot. Good job we had a travel one. Friendly enough staff and ultimately a 3 star reasonably priced hotel for central Harrogate so you get what you pay for

The manner of reception staff at check in and throughout my stay was very good, professional and friendly. There is loads of good, easy parking at the hotel. Admittedly, some of the furnishings are a bit dated, everywhere is clean and well equipped. The bedroom and bathroom were both large and comfortable. The bedding and towels were in good condition and decent quality. There was a well stocked hospitality tray. There was always plenty of hot water with good pressure It was very quiet both inside and outside. It is a short walk from Harrogate town centre and there is a but stop at the entrance if you want to venture further afield. I did not use the bar or restaurant, so cannot comment other than to say the prices looked reasonable

Very tired & needing some maintenance, first room had been used by the previous occupant as a smoking room. Quick change by receptionist was appreciated but all rooms do look tired

Check in and out brilliant. Car parking very easy. Service efficient and polite. Building itself has a real ambience of slightly faded glory which we found interesting and a nice change from modern hotels. However, we came in a heatwave and whilst the public rooms were cool enough, the bedroom was rather too warm and no obvious means to control the heat. Windows too heavy to open.n
