We arrived early in the morning after an overnight flight. Checkin time in nominally 3pm, but the hotel isn't busy and we hoped for an earlier checkin. No such luck; it was well after 3 when we got our room and Expedia Gold benefits seemed to contribute to the problem.
We got an email a couple of days before our stay to say that the kitchen would be closed for more than half our stay. It didn't affect us because we didn't plan to eay dinner there anyway, but it seemed rather unprofessional as they must have known much longer ahead that this was happening.
The breakfast was good but erratic. Food in the steam trays was NEVER hot. And we only had pineapple a few days despite there being a pineapple plantation with really good fruit in the Azores. Toaster was useless.
Overall a good hotel but not enough attention to detail.
