Dirty stained blanket. stinking bathroom floor. Waited 45mins for breakfast. 1 sausage, 1 slice of bacon, 4 very small mushrooms, zero tomatoe

The staff were excellent and went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast was also very good. Overall the accommodation was value for money. The facilities however really let this accommodation down. The advertised 'parking' which I had used as a filter, does not really exist. I was told on arrival that it was full. Even if it had not been full the price was £12 per night which was NOT clear on booking. The room itself was badly in need of tlc: broken radiator knob in bathroom meant it was blasting heat 24 hrs, broken toilet roll holder, stained bath. The kettle couldn't plug in on its own table as the socket height was too low, so we had to plug it in on the floor next to the bed. Shame!

Good value guest house, with great staff and good location

Clean, friendly staff, comfortable bed, good breakfast, convenient location

Very nice staff. Very basic room with single glazing onto a busy road and poorly sealed too, but the room was warm despite it being 0 degrees outside and it was clean. The bed was soft and unstructured - probably old. Breakfast was pretty so-so.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff

Staff was super friendly, nice secure car park with a decent breakfast…. However!! The rooms are very old and dirty stained carpets dirty bathrooms wallpaper falling off the walls

The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were incredibly courteous and pleasant.

Compared to the OYO across the road, it’s a million times better! Staff are great!

Daniel upgraded me to a ensuite which was better. The breakfast was great. Good location & fairly cheap. Definately recommend.

The hotel is run down but staff are very nice and it’s very clean. Would I stay there again- no I wouldn’t. The things to improve is the windows - my room had old rotten single glazed sash and the wind was rattling the whole window. These windows need changing into double glazing because also noise from nearby pubs was bad but the noise stopped at 9.30pm. Breakfast was good and freshly cooked when order was taken, hence a bit slow when loads of people chose the same time slot. Otherwise beds were comfortable, water in the shower hot, everything clean. Also big thank you to the lady in reception who helped me when I was waiting in the lobby and the scammer called me and she helped me. She said ‘your mobile provider wouldn’t ask you those question. It’s a scam. Just hang up’ she was right. So big than you to her today.

Room was spotless, nothing was to much trouble for the staff, breakfasts were very good with traditional and vegan options available, staff were kind and attentive. Excellent restaurant called Racks next door.

The reception staff and breakfast staff were excellent. Courteous and helpful and really friendly. Location of the hotel is good for walking down to the harbour and the city centre. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. Hotel was quiet and we had a good night’s sleep.

Was moved to the sister hotel - The Clifton. All excellent value.

Old fasioned, good service, watch parking

Very convenient and good value for location. I only needed a small room for myself for one night so happy to be able to book a single for less money than having to book a double.

The King sized bed was comfy and the check in staff were friendly but the paint etc was a bit tired and breakfast was chaos!

Exceptional price/ value, very friendly and engaging host at reception arrival, functional room with period features e.g. large sash window and architraves. Bathroom finishes could be improved. Full English breakfast was fairly fresh and tasty. Would happily recommend and stay again.

Dirty ensuite and unresponsive staff. Fire alarm went off for no reason at 1am. Had to wait for the owner to come and check it out.

Couldn't fault the hotel at all. Great staff, good location, nice room.
