The only redeeming quality about this hotel is its location. The room itself is old and filthy. The grout on the bathroom floor is black and the all the metal in the bathroom and room (toilet flusher, sink, lamps) are all rusted. The room is just gross; especially for what they charge. I paid over $400 for one night which is criminal considering what you get. You also have to pay for parking which is mandatory when traveling with a car since parking in the area is impossible.

We loved the location. We had a view of the beach from our balcony and the hotel is literally across the street from Carlsbad park and beach. The hotel is old but nearly completely renovated. We loved the breakfast room and patio views as well. We would stay here again!

Great location across from the beach. Everything was clean and the staff was very friendly. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Although the property is somewhat older. The room was comfortable. We were able to check in early. Breakfast was fine with many choices. Property located across the street from the beach .Carlsbad village is close by and there are many dining choices. Staff are pleasant and helpful.

Poor quality breakfast food

I really liked the deck that you could sit at and see the ocean/beach. The staff was very nice. The breakfast was very good. The firepit was a plus. The room was very outdated and old, musty smell and the air conditioner never really worked and was noisy. The price was expensive for the type of rooms. The location was really nice.

The lady at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The location is great. But the rooms are horrible. The ac is so loud that it triggered my migraine, I slept poorly because it kept turning on with a tractor sound. The bathroom is so tight and old, dingy, I wouldn’t shower there even if you paid me. The elevator is rattling on the go, making you wonder if you will make it to your destination. The walls are paper thin, I could hear my neighbors chatting from my room. Some guests hung their filthy towels over the common stairs handles, those towels stayed untouched overnight. The parking spots are tight, though given the limited space it is predictable. I am never staying here again and I thoroughly regret doing so this time.

Everything was perfect! Just as expected per the website and description. Breakfast was great too! Definitely will return.

If you are planning on visiting and staying in Carlsbad I would highly recommend this Best Western Plus. Friendly staff, beautiful view of the ocean, pool, fire pit, continental breakfast with a amazing selection and parking. The room was clean, spacious and exceeded my expectations.

All the staff very courteous, helpful and professional ! Room clean, very comfortable king size bed, big screen t.v. Very substantial breakfast options , coffee, beverages. Parking can be a challenge but it worked out ok. Price is the going rate for the area and time of year$. Would stay again.

The hotel has an amazing common deck that is perfect for ocean viewing without leaving the property. It was the perfect place to recover from any ailment. The ocean breezes and views are very much healing!

Property was clean. Good breakfast options. Pool was clean. Loved the close walk across the street to beach. Staff was helpful with luggage.

First over night stay in Carlsbad and it was fantastic. Great location!
