The building is an old building and it is clear there is a continual update going on ,which takes time ,we've been moved twice in past visits because of rain getting in (usually very wet and stormy conditions ) but we have been re roomed immediately in these conditions and we are still coming ,we like the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff ,breakfast is always fresh and plentiful ,no complaints ,the rooms are dated but as I said previously its an old hotel and we like it coming ,wealready booked for an Easter visit

Booked as advertised as dog friendly! We were not allowed to eat, drink or attend the cabaret with the dog. Dog was only allowed in the room! This is not dig friendly which meant we had to go out in the freezing cold wet westher to find somewhere that would allow dogs.

Clean room and bedding. Lovely and warm. The room we stayed in needs a refurb.

Awful staff in the dining area. Rude, obnoxious and verbally abusive, especially towards to someone who has a terminal illness and disability.

Disgusting treatment from the dining staff, mainly the nasty little chef. The food was reheated, was verbally abused by a group of staff. Because i said it was the same as night before, very politely , i was threatened with getting thrown out.

Shower tray was overflowing, and the room was very basic—only one bedside table and lamp, and no pictures or decor. Apart from that, they were sparkling clean and a pleasant surprise after reading past reviews. We got there only to find the kitchens were closed due to refurbishment, so we couldn't wake up and nip down for breakfast. An email or notification when booking to let us know would have been nice. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and the evening entertainment was brilliant.would definitely stay again for this price..

We booked a post-New Year getaway looking for a cheap change of scenery and didn't mind that the hotel is currently being refurbished. While the room was basic, it was spotless and boasted an incredible view of the sea. There was something "Overlook Hotel" about the atmosphere (in a good way!), and watching the wild weather from the comfort of a warm bed was a highlight. However, the breakfast experience was a letdown. The main draw here is the view, but we were stopped from sitting by the windows. A rather surly chef told us to sit in an adjoining room facing a wall, pointing out that two high chairs were blocking the way as a "barrier." When we tried to find another seat, we were told to move again. It feels like a missed opportunity not to let guests enjoy the scenery they came for. On the plus side, the reception staff were lovely and the holiday decor was very festive. The sea view ultimately made the trip worth it, but the dining service could use some of that same friendliness.

Price, ok it’s not that Grand but the room was warm, bed was comfy and it was quiet. Needs millions spending on it to make it grand, but it wouldn’t be £45 a night then!
