It is lack of enough staff. First night, suddenly we wake up at 3 am with a tribble noise due to strong wind causing the window to be open. We could not closed it and lot of rain was entering into our room affecting our stuffs. Went down to reception, he offer to change our room but there no one to help us to get our stuff to move the the new room. I asked for a bottle of water, no room service was available after midnight and also no any water bottle was available to be taken to our room. Receptionist offered to go to the spa and take some water in a cup from a machine. I’ve been to Malia in many places around and I was expecting surely much Aveiro deserve much better hotel service.

Air conditioning was not working in our room hotel unable troubleshoot the problem so they brought us a portable fan. We were offered a room change for our 2nd night but we had to pack everything up to move rooms…too much bother for us. Also we arrived at the hotel around noon but were told that our room would definitely not be ready before 3pm after a long day of travel this was very disappointing.

We stayed for 21 days and the second day the pool was closed for renovations. Perhaps they should have chosen January or February to do that not July and August. They also didn’t let me know when I booked that the pool would not be available.

This is an excellent hotel. Everything from staff to the appearance to cleanliness to breakfast was awesome. We also each had a massage. Wonderful! Only disappointment was the pool was not a single due to construction. It is close to mega shopping and lots of restaurants and of course the river. We had a river view and loved riding in and watching the Gondolas. We will definitely stay there again. Also We arrived on my husband’s birthday and we went out to dinner and when we returned back to our room the staff had left a tray of fruit and parties and a bottle of wine with a birthday card. An excellent touch.

Good breakfast and room adequate. Unfortunately there was a rap concert on in a temporary arena immediately outside our window, between the hours of 10pm and midnight. This was extremely loud to the extent that the bed was vibrating and we could not hear the TV. The concert was not arranged by the hotel, however the staff were very well aware of it and had not informed us in advance. We asked to change rooms, however were told there were none available. When we raised this again in the morning, we were not offered any concession eg on the room rate. The spa pool was also out of order, but we were not made aware of this at check in (and use of the pool/spa incurred an additional fee of €15). Had we known about the concert and the spa pool being out of service, we would have booked an alternative hotel.

Property was very clean and staff was helpful.

Very noisy bar area as acoustics poor and chairs so heavy they scrape loudly and other guests volume not absorbed. Difficulty charging car as Tesla charger not available to guests.

I booked this hotel specifically for the hot tub and sauna, after days of walking Lisbon, my feet and back were killing me. The Hot tub cost an additional 12 Euros. The steam room was broken. The sauna fit only one or two people at a time and the jacuzzi was only luke warm. When I told the attendant this, he said the jacuzzi was 33 c and I must be "getting sick" or something, which I am not, only sick of this hotel. It was less of a jacuzzi and more of a giant therapy pool, with no seats. If you push the button near the jet, it turns on, but only one jet was working and occupied. The rest of the pool is just a massive luke warm pond. The food was weird, the beds were rock hard with springs you could feel. I didn't sleep at all that night and my day of recovery required another day of recovery at my next location.

The hotel is well located, but the buffet food for dinner and breakfast is very poor, the premium room did not have a bathroom, very expensive for what they offer

If you want to use pool or gym there is a 15€/hour fee you have to pay. If you want to park you pay 9€/day. There are much better options for the same price, unfortunately I didn’t notice this before booking. Employees were very rude, very different from what I was expecting of a premium service. Rooms are old and not very well cleaned. On the more positive side bed is comfortable and breakfast is amazing.

Meliá ría was great! Location and property are really good . Breakfast as well. The only odd thing is that they charge you for the pool use, that having kids it’s a must. This wasn’t clear when booking

Staff is wonderful, unfortunately we had some issues with power loss leaving us without power and air conditioning when it was needed.
