If you like old world charm and elegance, this is the place for you. Delightful surroundings with serious healing treatments on offer. The only let down was the food, at times, but otherwise would highly recommended. Definitely returning.

Website unhelpful in relating spa services. Reception even worse. There was no doctor because we arrived on a Friday, and didn’t book it in advance. We were only staying the weekend. Women at reception all seemed perturbed that we were there. Not sure if they simply don’t like Americans or whether they are just burned out. Spa reception was slightly more friendly but unhelpful in helping us decide which services to get so I opted for the mirror pool and mudbath. There was very little instruction as to what to expect or how to prepare. All women were naked, ushered into first the sulpher pool for fifteen minutes, which was pleasant enough, and then into the mud pool, which was treacherously slippery to descend into on the stairs. We were instructed to put the mud, all over our bodies, face and hair. The only way to do that was to lift it up with my feet, which I tried. I ultimately reached down to get some into my hands but , I had a contact lens on and the sulpheric acid in the mud lodged beneath it. I was given a small glass of water to flush it out with and then told me to put a damp cloth on it and lay down. The pain got worse so I went back to my room and flushed it in the brown water that poured from the plumbing in our bathroom due to recent rains. Emergency room a half hour away, 110 euros for taxi, burnt cornea diagnosis, antibiotic drops and cornea gel for a week, patch on eye yet no one at the hotel seemed to care or offered reimbursement for the mud bath

It is an old hotel. The rooms are small but comfortable and nice. Breakfast was excellent. Wellness is new. The inside pool and the outside one are beautiful. Staying there is very relaxing. The service is good. It is not overrated. We would stay again.

Suuuuuuper sloooooow customer service, you could camp out while waiting. They are strict about meals. I prepaid half board meals for 4 people but arrived a bit too late for dinner, they were already closed. I requested a refund for the meals but the hotel rejected it. They offered to pack cold lunch if I was willing to wait again at a different line but no refund, not even a partial refund. Very bad management and customer service. What a shame, such a nice place though. They don’t have a concierge so if you have a problem or just a question you have to line up with those who are also checking in. Good luck there!

The property is not friendly to english speaking citizens. Mots all TV channels non English. Spa staff could be more welcoming and explain services better. Going to eat dinner and breakfast we were made to feel like second class citizens. All European guests seemed to have reserved tables in the main room. We were seated twice in the side room of which no server ever came to our table either time.

The hotel is a beautiful art nouveau style building built over 100 years ago and nicely renovated. Rooms are comfortable and clean. we were there when the swimming pool and wellness area was being renovated and therefore closed. We were able to use the wellness area at hotel esplanade, which was not good at all. It was old, dirty with rusted stairs and the tiles outside stained by the dirt. we would not return until the new swimming and wellness area is completed. Hotel.com did not explicitly say that the wellness area was closed and being renovated on the confirmation.

Amazing spa hotel built in 1918. Breakfast and dinner included in nightly rate. Awesome pedestrian island with many spa options or Irma spa right in the hotel has just been renovated. Spend a week, get the $20 doctor visit to make a treatment plan and you’ll feel like a new person after. Full weeks of treatment was like $400. Including laser, ultrasound,co2 injections, magnetic pulse therapy, mudpack, underwater traction with weights(they hang you by your head in warm water) massage, soft techniques, hydro massage tubs... the list of available treatments go on and on. The mirror and mud pools are beautiful historic buildings. The hot spring composition is unique in its powerful therapeutic abilities. I had joint and back pain and felt way better. The luxury, value and uniqueness of this property can’t be compared to anything except maybe a spa hotel in Hungary but this is better!

This is an hotel that we have visited for a refreshment on several occasions whilst visiting the area for dental treatment. We have had a wish to stay in the hotel but thought it expensive. However we managed to gain a deal for dinner, bed and breakfast for a night. Good points - lovely room with everything provided that was necessary and more. We used the spa at the Esplanade Hotel as the swimming pool was being refurbished at our hotel. Very good and was a friendlier atmosphere with 4 restaurants, this may be an hotel we would book in the future. Not so good points - the check in was not altogether a pleasant experience- the receptionist (who had limited English) accused us of not paying enough and she would need my credit card to pay the balance as it was obvious that the figure on her screen was far more than the amount I had paid! I had documentation that stated I had paid in full and the only other payment due at the hotel was a local tax of €3. I had an appointment and said in return I would discuss further, when I arrived back at the hotel she said she had made a mistake and it was because of £ not € payment. The dinner and breakfast were alright but not what we would expect from a 5* hotel. I cannot comment on the spa facilities as we did not use them. I am unsure if I would stay again

Thermia Palace is a very nice hotel located in a beautiful park on the island in Piestany, Slovakia. We liked everything about the hotel and its amenities: spotless rooms, great room service, pleasant staff. The main advantage of this hotel is the Irma treatment spa that is connected to the main building of the hotel. Well trained staff there and the convenience of walking in a robe right from your room to the spa is a big plus. The only concern was the restaurant staff. Some shifts were fast and efficient, some considerably understaffed therefore tables were not served like they should be in a 5 star hotel restaurant. Overall experience was great.

Hotel and grounds are beautiful. Spa's are connected or next door. The problem is the food. The dinner did not look good so we went and ate in the little town area over the bridge. The restaurants there were very good and a very lively environment. I did eat the buffet breakfast in the morning but it was terrible. No omelettes, no waffles or pancakes. The scrambled eggs had things mixed in and were gross. Hard to mess up breakfast but they did!
