Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast great. Improvements need making to WiFi and to spa area. Also need more veggie options for dinner - a simple pasta / risotto wouldn't go amiss. The vegan burger was terrible - go for a beyond meat or something.

If you are looking for a decent spa break, this is not the hotel for you. The spa was run down and tired, not rejuvenating at all. The pool was too cold to actually use, the hot tub was out of order (and had been for several days according to another guest). The sauna was broken in several different ways, no real heat and the benches were broken. Changing rooms were very basic, no privacy screens on the showers, and the lockers didn't have keys, so nowhere to store valuables. The few lockers that did have keys had no way of securing them to your person without a pocket. The ladies changing rooms were a mess with wet towels and gowns left thrown about the place. The water fountain was empty. No staff member came through to check/tidy/refresh any of this. Multiple guests had made complaints to the front desk about the above, none of which had been resolved in the time we were at the spa. The hotel room was nice but again, no hand soap in the room, and the water tank on the coffee machine looked very mouldy and so we couldn't enjoy the coffee in the room. There just seemed to be a general lack of care and attention to detail, most obvious in the fallen reindeer on the front lawn. 24 hours later and they still hasn't been moved/picked up. It's a small detail but the first thing I see as a guest and sets the tone. I chose this hotel for the spa facilities but couldn't stay more than 30 minutes before we had to leave due to frustration.

I would have scored this 3 star but 4 because of the great customer service. All of the staff were polite and helpful and really have had excellent training because they were always helpful, whether that was a drink from the bar even after the bar had closed or approving a late check in. The hotel is beautiful and clean. The jacuzzi was not working though which was a disappointment. The hot towel rail in the bathroom was also not switching on. Breakfast was lovely but could do with a few more veg options and a bigger range of pastries for a 4 star hotel. There are bikes to rent which are very easy to do and give the hotel that extra little touch. Rooms are cosy and nicely decorated. Overall was a lovely stay.

It was definitely a case of a series of unfortunate events. It was more the handling of the events by the staff, and in the end I gave up. I arrived and there was a smoke alarm beeping, I advised reception to be told another guest had also informed them. Maintenance however couldn’t find it, and went home not fixing it. It took the other guest to video said beeping and eventually we moved rooms at 9.30pm. Unfortunately for me, I found myself in a room where the shower periodically spat out water, I tried emptying the shower head to no avail and so the night was indeed sleepless. Add into that that I was over charged by £20 by the restaurant with staff with zero personality and had to receive a refund. I doubt I will stay at this overpriced hotel again. I stay at a lot of hotels, in 20 years I have rarely complained. The only member of staff who seemed to care and help was the food & beverage manager. Nice man.

The stay was wonderful, just needed to relax. Please advise customer of other fees which they will need to pay. So if using this platform you will need to pay for the sauna and swimming pool and steam room it is not included. Also advise customers they will need to pay a £50 holding fee, which you are told you get back.

Beautifully decorated high end hotel with spa. However it felt little like unloved child of rich parents - expensive finish and exquisite design were shadowed by inconsistencies with service or issues cleanliness. We stayed 2 nights with my husband and had dinner at the hotel - whilst menu was great and food delicious, they forgot about a side until it was time to clear the bill. Room was nicely done with fluffy duvet and extra pillows. Attention to detail to the outer appearance didn’t follow through with attentive service. Spa area is quite small, jacuzzi was cold and jets not working, pool smelly with plenty of limescale marks throughout the area, on the walls and floor. All 3 female showers at spa had something broken - from the drain to shower head and shampoo dispenser. Also we booked massage at the hotel, and communication to the masseuse from reception was bad - we booked (and paid) 45min massage for both of us, and got one 30min and another 55min. The window in the massage room was broken and despite the efforts with extra blankets and heater, I got sick afterwards. Some of the team members were amazing and very helpful and others had no clue what they were doing. Overall service was subpar for the hotel level and cost

Didnt use the bar. Very limited menu, scrambled eggs not cooked long enough. None disabled people parking in designated blue badge areas. Need someone to walk the carpark and issue fines to non blue badge holders.

My car has been vandalised and was an attempted break in, this will cost me hundreds. The hotel staffs intial reaction.....we are not liable for any damage in our carpark. This hotel is not safe and is aware of issues.

Overall the hotel was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was cosy and comfortable. If I had to say anything negative the spa looked a little tired and could use a re vamp. However this would not stop us from returning for another stay We were here for a wedding nearby so it was nice and convenient for that.It would be good next time to have more time to enjoy the hotel and its surroundings

Just returned from a 2-night stay for a wedding. Sadly we didn’t have much time to explore the hotel & grounds, but everywhere we saw was lovely and staff were very friendly. Only negative was the HEAT. Our room was unbearably hot, even with a fan which was placed in there on request. The whole upper hotel was sweltering, far hotter than it was outside or downstairs. Made sleep very difficult.
