Very beautiful and convenient location. Lovely staff. For a 5 star we wished for a shower door and possibly chocolates at turn-down service. Breakfast was plentiful but bread selection was dry and stale. Overall lovely stay which would be perfected with small improvements.

Hotel Gabbia d’Oro is a true gem tucked beside Piazza delle Erbe in Verona. It’s old—very old—and that’s exactly what gives it such charm. The hotel exudes quiet elegance with just the right touch of quirk: a tiny vintage lift, oversized brass keys, and a bar that feels transported from another century. What truly sets it apart, however, is the exceptional service. Check-in was seamless, transportation and dinner reservations were handled effortlessly, and every staff member I met was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. My room was comfortable and inviting, complete with a separate sitting area that added to its sense of calm and space. One moment perfectly captured the spirit of the place: I had a very early flight, and as I waited in the lobby for my taxi, the doorman quietly appeared with a steaming cup of coffee and two croissants—completely unprompted. That thoughtful gesture summed up my entire stay: gracious, personal, and infused with old-world care. A truly beautiful and memorable experience—I’d recommend it without hesitation.

Fabulous, exquisite hotel in a 17th century restored building. The entire staff from reception to the restaurant to housekeeping was the most pleasant and lovely I’ve ever encountered. It’s right in the heart of the main piazza, but it was quiet and secure, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I did!

The Hotel Gambia D'Oro is a charming hotel located conveniently at the Piazza delle Erbe. The hotel offers an abundant and tasty breakfast surrounded by old world elegance. The staff are gracious and helpful. I would gladly stay here again.

My wife and I where impressed by the vintage quality of the hotel. Excellent service and attentiveness. Excellent breakfast. Super centralized. You can walk to any restaurant or tourist location. I got some sort of allergy, maybe due to the dust. The bathroom floor was not that clean. You get water outside of the bathtub because of the small portion covered. This could become a dangerous slippery floor. The hotel should correct this item.
