This is a lovely Riad with friendly, helpful staff. The room was great, the breakfasts were nice. It is, however, quite a long and very confusing walk to the main parts of the Medina.

Beaitiful riad within the Medina. Fatima checked us in and she was very kind. Parking lot available within 1 block and easy access by car. Worked out well for us for the stop in Fes before continuing over to the Sahara desert. Recommend this place.

It was home away from home! Kareem was the most gracious host.Fes streets are very confusing,he walked with us the first day.Arranged a guide to go sightseeing and got us a taxi late at night to go to the train station. He made our stay memorable.Fatima was very friendly. She enlightened us on many sites to visit in Morocco. Room amenities were comfortable. Delicious breakfast and mint tea.Would definitely recommend.

This is a lovely riad with big spacious rooms and large comfortable beds. Unfortunately, the shower wasn't as great as I had to stand right at the edge of the bathtub to be able to stand under the shower. The owner's persistent touting of his tour guides was rather annoying but on the other hand, the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. The riad is located a short walk to the main gate but the streets around the riad are very quiet and can feel a little unsafe to be wandering around in after dark if one is alone.

The folks here could not be more welcoming and are very helpful. Their meals are delicious and the rooms are very comfortable and clean. We were traveling with our two adult children and had 2 suites on the top floor that worked perfectly. Its a very traditional riad in the medina that gives you true Moroccan flavor. They were very helpful arranging for a guide and drivers. Their English is limited but we did fine communicating in French.

this is a great choice for a relaxing stay in tes, the riad is beautiful, clean, comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. they provided us with a map and we were able to find our way to and from the medina without any difficulty. they recommended a guide for our first day in the medina and also helped us with finding a dentist. the laundry service was very expensive and we didnt realisedthe the bed tax is not included in the price of the hotel. we would highly recommend this hotel

This Riad is located at the south end of the medina. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. All employees spoke french and 2 spoke some english. The rooms were clean and beautifully appointed. Our room had a separate sitting room and a large bathroom. Breakfast was included and entailed various breads, jams, and coffee. Omelettes could be added for an additional fee. Breakfast could be eaten in the lovely garden or on the rooftop. The hotel has a very nice view of the medina. The staff can prepare a traditional morrocan dinner in the garden courtyard upon request (this was expensive and without alcohol). The location was in the medina (tell cabs Ziat gait) or take a 25 minute brisk walk from new town to get there. A 15 minute walk will get you to Jewish quarter and Blue gate (where most of the sights are). This walk was fine during the day, but uncomfortable at night. There are no sights or restaurants right next to the Riad so expect several long walks or negotiate cabs (should be 15 dirham to/from the train station in new town, but the cabs will quote you 40 and you'll have to negotiate - if you have luggage it's tough to negotiate). We requested a guide for the medina. Our guide was well-informed, reasonably priced, and spoke perfect english. The other nice part about Riad Dar Chrifa is that the price quoted is your actual price. There were no extra fees for phone calls, holding luggage, taxes, etc.

We had booked this hotel for 2 nights. Upon arrival at the hotel we were shown to our room. We could smell dampness as soon as we walked in. This was confirmed by the walls of the bathroom. We asked to be moved to a better room. After explaining to us that this was supposedly a 'feature' of the hotel, we were shown to a room which was better, but still nowhere near what we had expected based on the website. The floor tiles and furniture were quite old and worn and the bathroom also had signs of dampness. Worse was yet to come however. The next morning we were told that we had to pay additional taxes for accommodation that was sub-standard to begin with. This was despite the fact that our booking through hotels.com had explicitly stated that all taxes and fees were included. This led to our first meeting with the receptionist. I have to say she was very unpleasant to deal with, asking if either of us had any experience of travelling and petulantly turning the computer screen away from us at one point. She eventually admitted having sent an email to hotels.com to sort this out, but still insisted we pay up. We asked to speak to the owner, who consequently didn't bother to turn up. We had a similar confrontation the following day and in addition we were charged several times the cost price for a bottle of water which we had been told was free. We have travelled many places in the world but we will never forget this hotel or the way we were treated. We feel we have been maltreated and quite deceived. Do not be fooled by the website or the slick photography and please do not make the same mistake we did by booking this unfriendly, overpriced, sub-standard excuse for a hotel.

The owner was very nice and helpful. The room was in good condition. The location was great -- two minutes to Bab Ziat (access to petite taxis) and less than 10 minutes walk to Batha. The wireless internet signal was so weak it did not work. Otherwise this was a great place to stay and excellent value.

This hotel, like any located in the Medina, was very difficult to find, but once we arrived, we found it charming. The only drawback was that our room was dark; it needed more lamps.

The Dar Chrifa is a very friendly, well-run riad in the Fes medina, about 10 minutes walk from the main souk area. The food is good and the service excellent. The guide they arranged for us was excellent and the owner of the riad seems very hands-on in terms of making sure guests are happy. As for Fes, brilliant! Fascinating and perfectly safe to walk around at night.

We stayed here for our honeymoon, the staff was incredibly sweet and attentive, the chef would make special meals for our dietary restrictions. The staff went out of their way to help us when my husband fell ill. They were very accommodating when we needed to spend an extra night there. Beautiful decor. Strongly encourage you to stay here

Very good location, and the staff is friendly and eager to please the guests. The restaurant inside de hotel is also a reference in Tanger, so you must have at least one dinner there.

What a lovely place and lovely people who run it. They took care of our needs and were so wonderfully concerned that we enjoyed ourselves and Fes. We stayed in two other Riads while in Morocco- this was by far the best!
