Our room No 233 had faulty air conditioning control unit during our 7 night stay. Couldn’t set the temperature it was either on or off meaning very cold or very hot.Hotel engineers couldn’t fix it needed a part hotel was full no other rooms available. Hotel agreed via Expedia to refund one days stay compensation 423 euros. Hotel produce paperwork they signed I signed payment via credit card. Expedia contacted me this morning the hotel had reversed their decision and there would be no compensation. This after I had checked out and on way home. Not what you would expect 5 star hotel. Emails to prove this

The hotel is convenient located near bars and restaurants, an outstanding spa, with friendly staff and service throughout. The breakfast is amazing- lots of options both buffet and options from the chef. The rooftop is wonderful, shame it is adult only. The room was shared with 2 adults and 2 children. The bathroom area could have been more discreet. Though robes and slippers were provided which helped. Would stay here again.

Beautiful hotel with a theme of tranquility and wellness. Friendly and welcoming staff always helpful. Rooms are very comfortable and of good size with everything you would need. Fabulous breakfast quality and choice. Lovely spa area and good gym. No complaints.

I was initially a bit concerned by other recent negative reviews however I couldn’t fault our stay. On check in we were greeted with a glass of cava and bags taken to our room. Room was lovely and had a great view of the pool. The room was cleaned every day with fresh towels and bottled water provided. The rooftop pool was lovely and peaceful which we used for the duration of our stay. Breakfast was great with lots of choice and we appreciated there were a la carte options included. The staff on the front desk were pleasant and helpful. They provided recommendations and would order you a taxi as required. Overall we had a great stay and would return.

I reserved and paid for a room with a bathtub. They gave me a different room than want I paid for. The room is not alike the picture of Hotels.com. I complained to the front desk explaining that my fiancé had a surgery, she cannot take showers , that was why I paid and reserved for that room. They sais its the same room but without a bath, they refused to change us saying the other room is not available at the moment. So Basically its a bait and switch. I complained to hotels.com, they tried calling but could not discussed with the hotel Because of the language barrier; they hotel employees speak only Spanish. We end up with a lower quality room, no-one care and we received no compensation. It is not acceptable and not a way to treat guests.

The positives are that the property is in a good location, with plenty of free on street parking, and the breakfast is of decent quality. However, the overall experience is definitely below the 5 star standard. The air con in the room is poor. The lighting controls in the room are extremely confusing to operate. The air con in the fitness suite is so bad that working out is very uncomfortable. Service at breakfast is slow, taking nearly 30 minutes before our order was taken one morning. The condition of the public areas, including the pool area is poor - tiles and decking boards lifted, beds dirty and green froth floating in one of the pools. In our 5 days at the property, we didn’t see any aspect of the public spaces being cleaned. Overall, I would give the hotel 4 stars at best. A lot more attention to detail is required before it lives up to it’s 5 star rating.

The only positive thing about this hotel was the staff that seemed to be considerate. Had a room that smelled like there’s mould in the A/C units, and as I am allergic to it, I had to sleep with an open window to minimise the bad air quality. The appliances beg for refurbishments, as the quality of my room was extremely poor (lots of appliances are in bad shape, broken or is borderline broken). This hotel is far away from a 5 star standard - it definitely was 10-15 years ago (or whenever it was opened). Value for money 3.5/10

Service has really become poor here. Lack of attention for drinks, long waits for service at breakfast and the bars, poor quality and sporadic room cleaning, did not replenish minibar, no music around rooftop pool and bar for over half of the week's stay

It’s not our first time staying at Aguas, it’s been quite a few times that we stayed there with family and friends. This time we were 2 families with 4 children from 6 to 14 y/o. It was our first disappointing stay in this 5 star hotel. Housekeeping was pushy, we had to ask several times just to get more than 2 towels, the rooms weren’t ready for the kids upon arrival, and we had to make the children beds ourselves. There was no drinkable water in the room. Room service was terrible, between the non delivery to the wrong door delivery waking us up at 7AM, it was just annoying. The hotel was fully booked and the staff was clearly overwhelmed.
