We traveled with a group of friends from our town in Sicily for a 4-day getaway, making Michelangelo Hotel our base. It's clean, comfortable, pretty, and the staff are pleasant and accommodating. The shower accommodation is heavenly. And though hotel restaurant food will always be just that, it was not bad, there were always two choices for the courses, and the service was exceptional. Breakfast buffet was also good. I understand there are the terme (hot springs) near the hotel. I'd like to check them out. If so, I'd stay here again.

We loved our stay at Michelangelo! We think we got an upgrade because our room was huge and so was the bathroom. Beautiful view at the back where our balcony was, we saw Montecatini Alto. The bed very comfortable and beautiful and the whole room was beautifully decorated. Very nice receptionist at check-in. Good breakfast with quite a large selection. Lovely seating in the garden and so lovely to have a pool! Quiet location a bit from the center, but very close to the funicolare that takes you up to the incredibly beautiful Montecatini Alto. As I said, we loved our stay but there are a few things that could be improved for an even better experience: * We had lunch both days by the pool and it was very confusing. The first day there was a guy who seemed very stressed and unfocused, he forgot to give us things time and time again, eg glasses. On the second day, I had to run all the way to reception and ask where the waitstaff was because it was completely empty when we sat down for lunch. The actual quality of the lunch is very variable, the pasta is very good but the salads are really not good; small, tasteless and "wrong" ingredients (fennel is not a salad for example). * As I said, it is very nice to have a pool, but plastic sunbeds are really not nice!! No human can lie comfortably on such without a soft cushion! And there are also not enough sunbeds if the hotel has a lot of guests. My tip is really to change the sunbeds to fabric ones that are found everywhere else in Italy, and also to use the lawn to make room for more sunbeds. Overall we had a wonderful stay and I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again!

This hotel cannot be recommended at all. We had booked a two-night stay with the idea of ​​relaxing in the spa. When we arrived at the hotel, it was announced that the spa was not in use at all. When we wanted to cancel the reservation because of this, we were told that we should have booked a visit to the spa in advance (there is no mention of this on the booking website). However, the spa was closed due to staff falling ill. The service attitude of the reception had disappeared at this point. We were able to cancel the second night. The room was spare and cool. At some point we noticed a panty liner attached to the air conditioner, removing which made the heating work. In the morning, the cleaning person tried to enter the room with the keys before 10 am (checkout at 11 am).

I do not recommend it! They look down on tour groups. Unfriendly staff. At dinner, those who knew the Italian language in our group were given 2x larger portions than those who did not. By the way, we all paid the same price and it wasn't cheap. At breakfast, they moved us to another table because we didn't sit in the "right place". I should mention that the dining room was empty at the time. The employee did not even wipe the table for which she sat us down. I we didn’t clen it ourself we would eat from a dirty one and ful off crumbs. There is no answer to the email that i left something in the room; nor- no, we can’t help you.
