We spent three nights at Chateau de Bellefontaine. This place is a hidden gem!! You have to understand older homes, in order to appreciate its character. The staff were wonderful, the breakfast was amazing and the house and grounds were stunning. We had a one bedroom, on the 4th floor. The bed, in our room, was totally comfortable.... more so than any other place we stayed, in France. If you choose to stay here... ENJOY!!

The grounds are lovely, the staff friendly and helpful, and the food in the restaurant was great. The room, itself, was OK, but its design was strange. The toilet and the shower and sinks were on two different levels, and the staircase made accessing the coffee maker beneath it a bit precarious. Plus, the WiFi in the room did not work the entire three nights we were there.

Beautiful, quaint, clean and comfortable. We had a lovely stay! Wish we’d stayed longer to enjoy the wonderful gardens. Very comfy beds, good food and very friendly staff. Easy walking distance to town. Highly recommend!

Lovely hotel, room was quaint with beamed ceilings. Bathroom was large but only had a bathtub and handheld shower. Had an excellent dinner as well a lovely breakfast full of many options. It was a short walk into town. Overall a beautiful property on beautiful grounds. Would stay again!

The chateau and the grounds are lovely. The property is right outside the center of Bayeux and easily walkable. The room was very large and well cleaned. We dined at the chateau one night and were very disappointed. Everything tasted like it had been cooked two hours earlier and simply warmed up. The fish was smothered with a white sauce that was bland at best. Breakfast was ok. Not enough staff. The woman at the reception desk was also the bartender and the server. From what we could tell, there was just one chef preparing the food for six couples (hence probably why everything was precooked and just warmed up).

The staff were kind and the restaurant meal delicious. It was more a B and B than a hotel - expensive for what we got

Beautiful property! Rooms we're nicely done with great views of the property and surrounding area. Quite. Beds were very comfortable. The young woman (brunette) who checked us in and served us wine that afternoon and evening was incredibly sweet and welcoming! A wonderful hostess! We highly recommend!

This is not a 4 star establishment. We have stayed on better 3 star. The property itself is beautiful but it is run down and with basic facilities, we went for breakfast at 9am and they had run out of most food items, no staff around to assist. Had to go to reception to be told there was only 1 member of staff manning the reception and assisting with breakfast, as she was busy we had to wait for her to be free and restock the breakfast food. We decided to leave without eating. The on site restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay which was not communicated until we arrived. Overall will not book again. Not value for money

Staff was very kind. Property and rooms need refurbishing desperately. Very old beds, carpet and furniture. Odd restaurant hours and availability. Truly not on par as advertised for a chateau inn setting.

A very pleasant place. We had some trouble with the heating (too hot), but it was fixed the next day, Beautiful setting, with a moorhen living in the pond. It is about ,7 miles to town, but the walk is unpleasant. The restaurant in the hotel is quite mediocre.
