Amazing location and was very walkable to everything we wanted to see. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the lobby and patio area. The lobby is also home to 2 cats that roam around and we absolutely adored the charm

It is a bit central. Walking distance to Anne Frank’s house - about 5mins. Bridge construction adjacent to the hotel makes getting a Uber extremely challenging. Breakfast was okay and the staff was okay helping with my bags. They had more than 50 steep stairs to climb to my room, which was tiring and can be challenging with travel bags. No elevators. I won’t recommend to an elderly or people with mobility restrictions. I paid for 3 nights and end up spending 2 nights due to an emergent appointment. Even though I notified them at check-in, they won’t cancel my last night, and told me they would not find anyone to rent the room.

This is a a quaint hotel in a good location in Amsterdam. The staff was unbelievable ! Kind and helpful. One of the top friendliest places we have been! The breakfast was fresh and has great selections. Coffee all day was a nice touch . If you are a frequent European traveler you will not be surprised by the room sizes. They are small. Your 3 extra suitcases won’t fit. The entrance includes a very steep and narrow staircase but the staff was wonder and carried our bags to our room. If you are mobility limited skip this hotel. The price was worth it, even over Kings day

Be prepared for very steep stairs. The staff will help with luggage but it still a steep long climbs from front door. The staff are lovely and very accommodating. Breakfast is good and plentiful. Lovely sitting area to sit and relax after a day exploring. Small rooms as expected.

I loved my stay at Hotel Clemens. The location is as good as it good. Just steps from the canals and the beautiful Jordaan neighborhood, and easy access to the Tram and Dam Square. The staff is kind and helpful and the breakfast is quite good. The hotel itself is inside a charming canal house with steep narrow stairs. The rooms are small but nice, and the lounge area is quite nice with a good view to the outside.

Stairs!! OMG the stairs. Looking at buildings in Amsterdam from the street; tall and narrow, it shouldn’t take a rocket scientist to expect stairs. I’m clearly not a scientist, rocket or otherwise. The first flight was 36 steps, on easily a 45 degree angle. More like a really really long step ladder. We were on the 3rd floor, and I’m 77. No mystery that you don’t see many gyms in the town. All that said, the place was charming and friendly. Breakfast was good, very European (surprise). Another cool thing was the church bells tolling the quarter hour. Electronic, I’m sure, but pleasant. I wish we had those at home, the neighbours squashed them years ago. I’d go back to this place.

I will be very honest...Loved the location literally the best for my trip needs. The staff incredible helpful like super sweet! The room was smaller than I expected from the description "deluxe single" smallest hotel room I ever had...My room was the 1st one at the top of the stairs and omg I wanted to cry every single morning at 7pm everyone was having the most loud chat in front...I know that is not the hotel fault but disrespectful guest but maybe worth to make it more clear to keep quiet...was incredible annoying and I am a deep sleeper but just felt like someone broke into my room and was going on and on 7am to 10am so please avoid room 208!!! Also, after 2nd night woke up with many weird bites on my hands...even if the room looked clean overall I got bed bug bites...I would like to return mainly because of the nice staff and location but the rest sadly put me off......

Very disappointed with Clemens hotel. We checked in only to find our room smelled of thick cigarette smoke. Reception were useless, couldn’t help. Expedia called them but got nowhere. We had to book another hotel on short notice and spend 1000 euros while hotel Clemens did nothing. They still haven’t refunded us and they refuse to admit it’s their fault.

The staff was amazing. I arrived at the hotel very early in the morning. Because it is a small hotel, you can get a more personal treatment. They offered me to have breakfast and gave me tips for my first time visit to Amsterdam. I stayed the lobby/ breakfast area, which was very cozy on a very cold day until I was ready to start the day. They were able to give me the room as soon as it was ready.

Location is great! Walking up the stairs is not easy for old people, but it was okay for me. Rooms are small.

Great staff, lovely hotel cat, decked out for Christmas, cozy rooms, and a good breakfast. Only hiccup are the intense stairs upon entering; fine for a younger traveler but would be a challenge for some. Would stay here again!

The room was adequate but the main thing to be aware of is the stairs. We had 70 plus steps to climb each time we went to our room from street level and some of them were spiral. Someone did help us with our luggage for check in, but we were on our own for check out. There was no offer to help and they clearly knew we were carrying luggage, as we stopped halfway down, at the lobby to drop off the key. Lobby sitting room was a nice perk and the breakfast was good too. Good central location to stay if you have minimal luggage.
