We found this an excellent hotel, full of character and in a perfect, central position. The room was large, and all staff are helpful. We especially appreciated the fridge in the room.

Room was big, breakfast was a perfect size, just a little noisy on a Friday night, not that bad

Location was good, close to train, shops and dining. I had the room on the top floor and the roof was angled and low in half the room so i couldn't stand up straight

The Hotel des Arts offers excellent value for money in a very affordable, no-frills package. The hotel is in a rather beautiful old building in the heart of Montpellier, close to the station, the Comedie area and dozens of narrow streets containing many bars, shops, restaurants and cafes. The youthful staff are friendly, helpful to a fault, knowledgeable and speak excellent English. Our room was clean, though small and basic, with no tea and coffee making facilities.. However, when we asked the receptionist, she went out back and found us a kettle and a couple of cups. What a lifesaver! The basic continental breakfast (€10.50 extra) was good and tasty, with plenty of fresh fruit and hot coffee. The only things we didn’t like were the bed, which was so hard as to be rather uncomfortable, and the lift, which is tiny and extremely claustrophobic. Overall, though, for the money, l would recommend the Hotel des Arts to any traveller on a budget, especially if arriving by rail, since it is an easy 5-6 minute walk from Montpellier St Roch station.

Très bon rapport qualité/prix, bonne localisation en plein centre ville, proximité avec la gare SNCF pour celles et ceux venant en train.

Great hotel. Booked at the last second and had everything we needed. Great location close to the city center. Paid parking available, but the parking lot is incredibly tight and a homeless man lives in the parking garage.

Good location near the Place de Comédie. This is a small hotel offering basic accommodation accessed by a séries of staircases and in January 2023 the lift was out of order. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Owing to major roadworks in the centre of Montpellier access by car is challenging and the nearby underground parking is 5 minutes away.

Convenient to train station and plenty of restaurants. Easy to get around on foot

Pleasant old fashioned hotel near the staion and main square. No lift as far as I could see which might make it dificult for some.
