This is not a 4 star hotel, the rooms are adequate but no tea/coffee making facility, 1 bin in the bathroom, no tissues - just things you would expect from 4 stars. The staff behind the bar and in the dining area did not know how to smile or interact, its buffet style but you are told what time you can eat and 2020hrs is too late for most people. We reported a rat on the patio and it was dealt with by using disinfectant in the drain - clearing cups and glasses from around the pool would help, some were there on Saturday and still there when we left on Tuesday. The bar was manned by one person and not adequate for busy times. Other reviews on here say concerns will be addressed but the bar service is one thing and the attitude of staff is another, more seriously is the luke warm food- cold plates and insufficient staff to clear food from tables. Start the evening meal earlier and take away the set times and things will move better. If I haven’t finished my wine at the table let me take it to the bar, don’t tell me it’s not possible. If I want to fill a water bottle or flask with water, allow it, don’t tell me it’s not possible. Have a ‘can do’ attitude and the hotel would be worthy of 4 stars. One other point is stop wedging open fire doors, they are there to protect us and service the extinguishers they are 2 years out of date. On the up side, the staff behind reception were excellent.
