Beautiful hotel. Perfect for the solo traveler looking to explore the city with a quiet spot to get some rest before going out and doing it all again.

Great location, pleasant staff, friendly guests. The room is quite tiny but completely sufficient if you’re not fussy and just need a safe and clean bed for the night. The showers & toilets are down the hall, college dorm style. There was a private rooftop party. Would be nice if guests could enjoy that area when not booked.

Do NOT stay in this hotel thinking that you will get the amenities and common spaces shown in the photos. This is no longer the case. All common spaces - bars, lobby, patios are now an exclusive members only club and hotel guests are not permitted here. The only room you have access to is the bedroom and the shared bathroom. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because of the amazing location. walkable to everything in a very nice neighbourhood.

Great for solo travelers, while rooms are small they're strategically outfitted with hooks, shelves, and under bed storage. Shared bathroom was clean and other guests kept to themselves in common areas. The Jane is a great deal and a safe place to stay if you plan to be out in the city all day!

The hotel is in need of and upgrade. Rooms terrible and there is only one lift which takes forever (no stairs for guest access). The hotel smells of food and the restaurant next door uses the guest area to prepare food and transport items, felt like I was back of house. The hotel entrance is in a basement with super unsafe steps.

I used to stay at the Jane when it was affordable. Now I don't think it's worth the jacked up price. They used to offered disposable slippers and bottled water but those perks are gone.

Should have a different name, since it's no longer the fun place it used to be three years ago. Now it's just an overpriced glorified hostel.

We checked in and checked out 15 minutes later. There were pictures of lounge spaces that showcased a charming environment. Where as the rooms are isolated and small as is, the common spaces were where we had planned to post up with laptops, engage in conversations etc. when we arrived, we learned EVERYTHING was under construction. There was not a single place besides your tiney room to exist. We never would have booked here had we known. I had paid in advance through Expedia, so there was no way to get our money back. Booked 2 rooms and left 15 minutes later.

The neighborhood was amazing. Loved how many great restaurants were around. It was a shame that a lot of the common areas were permanently closed at The Jane. We were not aware of this when we booked and they were actually the main reason we chose to stay here. The promotional pictures on The Jane's website and social media still heavily feature these areas that dont exist. Staff were wonderful though and the shared washrooms were always clean.

The Jane is nice if careworn. It's under new management and the entrance, once unique, is at motel standard and in the basement. There's no longer rooftop access, lounge and cafe attached and though near dining, it's not the same. There is a feeling now that hotel guests are an afterthought; no slight to the doorman and front desk staff, but that vibe remains

Located right between the West Village and Chelsea, it is an amazing area to call home. The staff at The Jane Hotel were all very friendly and helpful. We were able to keep our luggage at the front desk after check out, to allow us an easier last day in the city. The room, while very small, was pleasant and clean. It utilized an energy saving stick key fob for entry and electricity, and the bathroom was clean. The shower wasn’t quite hot enough, and the hallway to reach the bathroom was cluttered with boxes, but the hotel and restaurant next door share an elevator, and I understood it. Mostly, I loved the location and the staff were friendly, and I felt safe and clean, so I’d highly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit NYC. It’s only a few minutes walk to Starbucks Reserve Roastery, which is a must-see. And Little Island park, and the High Line. Just a great area.

Lovely management and clean facility. Unfortunately we could not complete our stay due to the construction! Hope to catch you once it’s completed.
