The two stars is for the room we stayed in. It was enormous: a one bedroom apartment with a kitchenette, decorated by someone with tremendous style. It was such a welcome finale after a month of backpacking through Spain and staying in some tiny hotel rooms. This room had a dinner table, a pull-out couch, and a washer/dryer. In addition to appliances, the kitchenette had every tool we needed, from the best manual citrus juicer I've ever seen, to tongs and a collander.
All of this accommodation is rendered useless by the pitiful customer service. Their front desk consisted of one person at any time of day or night. Requests for toiletries took a minimum of 45 minutes to fulfill, sometimes up to 2 hours.
In the middle of our 5-day stay, we were informed that there would be a mandatory cleaning/inspection by housekeeping staff. Fine. We postponed our busy day of sightseeing to wait for housekeeping at its expected time so that we could be present. We ended up waiting for 3 hours. Near the end of the third hour, we called the front desk to question the housekeeper's whereabouts. The same man who had told us earlier that it was "hotel policy" to have the housekeeper come into our room pivoted to "it's only because she wanted to clean before your stay was over" as his lip service. When the housekeeper finally did arrive, she threw away all of our store bought toiletries that were on the bathroom counter, including toothpaste and contact lens solution.
Upon checkout we reported this to the front desk man, an older fellow. He was indifferent and dismissive.
Do not stay here.
