The hotel is going through a transitional period. Old vs New, I'd say. Some parts of the hotel are tired and would benefit from a deep clean while in the central areas the hotel has modernised and freshened up. The beds, linen all main facilities were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and service good.

Dirty hotel that is living in a faded past. Staffed by people who are indifferent at best but mostly didn't think it was their role to support me as a guest. The public areas are very dirty and poorly maintained. The bedroom is little better and certainly far from clean and far from well maintained

Absolutely awful. Filthy, dusty, dated and smelly in the hallway. We couldn’t find another hotel to move to so had to stay, I didn’t get into the bed but covered it and the pillows with my own towels. The door wouldn’t lock so we had to wedge a chair underneath the handle. Run down and dilapidated. Bathroom disgraceful and mouldy. Asked to move rooms ( twice) and was told the internet was down so even if he wanted to he couldn’t move us! The only saving grace was the waitress was lovely and the food in the pub was good Expedia should not be sending guests here.

Our room was dirty and unclean. After an hour of being there, we checked out and went to a new hotel. We tried to get our money back as the hotel was unclean and not pleasant but got denied it. We paid £110 for a room i wouldn't spend £20.

The receptionist who welcomed me was incredible! He was extremely polite, kind, and professional. I wish him all the best. Unfortunately, I didn’t ask his name, but he was the one working a bit later in the evening. He was genuinely amazing and deserves all the best. Thank you for making me feel so welcome!

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was large, cool, and the beds were very comfortable. There was a bath, but no plug! They were working on the WiFi so we were not able to connect to it in our room. The TV signal was erratic. We booked a buffet breakfast but all that was actually available were variations on a cooked breakfast, or Toast & Jam. But the cooked breakfast was good and the food we had for our evening meals was superb. The hotel is located right next to the Devil’s Punchbowl and we enjoyed walking around this area in the evening. No problems with traffic noise.

The whole place was pretty tired and in need of a good redecoration. The room we had 204 was dated but the bed was clean. The bathroom had broken tiles on the floor and the shower area had mouldy patches. We did NOT use the shower. The bar area was ok snd the bar staff were friendly. The corridor leading to our room smelt of vomit, it was quite unpleasant. We decided not to eat breakfast there the next morning. The price was good and I didn’t expect it to be 5* but to be honest, I probably wouldn’t go back. Shame, good location and lots of potential.

Hotrl was functional but needs refurbishment. Strong smell in hallway, not sure of the cause but very off putting.

Breakfast was good and the staff helpful

Unfortunately first impressions of this hotel were of a tired property in need of updating. The bar and restaurant appeared to be clean and well presented. We had a drink in the bar but did not use the restaurant. Bedrooms are a good size and the bed was comfortable. There was a kettle and tea/coffee available. We also had a small television. What really lets the room down was the dirty tired bathroom. The window blind in the bathroom was mouldy, the toilet was stained at the u bend. It didn’t look like it had ever been bleached. The shower was mouldy and needed a good deep clean. The bedroom carpet was also stained and needed a shampoo. The bedroom and bathroom windows were old metal frames which did not close properly. This made the room cold and draughty. Overall I think the accommodation needs investment to make it more attractive.

The property needs a face lift as do the rooms, but it was comfortable enough for one night. Annoying emergency green light above the door that shines straight through the room not making it dark to sleep well. Pillows not comfortable for me too flat

Nice clean room excellent staff

The property could definitely do with updating; a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss. However, I would describe the property as quirky. Parking limited but safe. Staff go above and beyond, very friendly and helpful. Food was very good. Overall 4 stars, just needs a bit of TLC.

The hotel was ideal for us as only 30 minutes or so to Goodwood. Good value accommodation. Very helpful staff and the Restaurant food was first rate. Also worth a mention was the Bar where the staff and clientele were so welcoming it reminded us of the bar in 'Cheers'!

Breakfast ordered was Sourdough toasted sandwich. Sourdough was hard and burnt
