The hotel does not match the photos at all. The room was not oceanfront as advertised, and I had to pay extra to be moved to another room. The final cost was far higher than what the place is worth. The bathroom cleanliness was not great. The photos make it seem like the entire building is part of the hotel, but in reality, only the first two floors belong to the hotel — the rest are a private condominium. The listing gives the impression that the whole building is part of the hotel, which is not true. The TVs in the rooms don’t work, and the walls — both in the bathroom and the bedroom — are dirty. The breakfast is not very good, just okay. There is also no place to park the car.

Praia mar is a good hotel. Nothing crazy but it’s in a great location for food, beach, and walking at night. The beachfront avenue has many people walking at night, lots of food and entertsinment

The bathrooms had hair all over shower, floor and bed. Room had stain on the floor that looked like blood.

This is an old hotel, deserving of an upgrade. The location is great. The staff was very pleasant, and willing to help with anything that I needed. Breakfast was just ok. Hotels and Pousadas in the NE of Brasil are famous for their breakfasts with fresh fruits, juices, tapioca, and a variety of breads and pastries. This one was just ok. If you came for breakfast by 9 am, the empty tray of scrambled eggs was left there with that sad look, along with the empty bowl of what was fruit salad... However, I felt secure, and had two weeks worth of good sleep, since the location is quiet at night.

The hotel is very basic. It's clean, but it needs an upgrade. The breakfast is basic too. Usually breakfasts in the Northeast of Brasil are the highlight of the hotel. Not this one. Very good location.

My stay at Praia Mar was satisfactory . Bathroom could use some updating . Location is outstanding.

I travel often and am not exaggerating when I say this was the single worst hotel I have ever been to. We arrived and the hotel lobby was dingy with the smell of body odor. We were given our hotel key by the man at the desk and went up to our room. The ceiling of the hallway was low, the hallways were dark and dingy. Once in our room, the room light did not work. We had to go back down and get the maintenance man to come up to fix it. He literally jiggled the light socket on the ceiling and smacked it twice and it flickered on. After he left, we tried the air conditioner - it didn't work. The safe didn't work, and there were bugs on the bed. The TV (the only thing that turned on when we got there) had such poor definition you couldn't even read the text that came across the screen. After four or five interactions with the front desk we decided to go. When explaining to the man working the desk that we wanted our money back he simply said "no Ingles" and shrugged. I spent two hours on the phone with Expedia trying to get them to help out. Unfortunately, all he would do is pick up their calls, say "No Ingles" and hang up on them. I am currently out $1,050 and have been working with expedia on getting some kind of refund. It is unclear if the hotel is refusing to do so, or if they simply cannot communicate with expedia, or some combination of the two. This has been my worst hotel experience to date, I would strongly encourage anyone and everyone to search elsewhere.

Hi, The hotel is well located, but is very old, very very old. Actually the hotel is under construction and they woke us up about 8am, two days. The hotel was under construction and the noise was so loud that we were not able to (sleep, watch tv, talk, rest etc) they work for 4-6 hours each day. When I get back I will request expedia to give me some money back. The staff is very nice and willing to help but they cannot perfom better if they give them a crapy infraestructure.

Our room was on the 1st floor (above the reception). The room was not nice at all. It was noisy because there were much happening in the evenings at the street Beira Mar.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is great for a great price. Would gladly return.

Quarto em si é muito bom,porém ficamos em um quarto quádruplo com nossos filhos e em uma das camas de solteiro não havia cobertor, quando solicitado um cobertor nos informaram que não havia disponibilidade somente lençol. Equipe de funcionários bons, bem prestativos as camareiras são excelentes! Quarto sempre muito limpo e cheiroso. O café da manhã deixa um pouco a desejar não tem muita variedade de escolha e não há reposição das coisas que acabam. A localização é muito boa de frente para a praia , muito perto da feirinha, farmácia e mercados nas redondezas.

A experiência foi incrível, o café da manhã é bem servido, a equipe do hotel é atenciosa e educada, a localização é nota mil, só tenho elogios a fazer, ficamos 6 diárias, em um grupo de 5 pessoas, não tenho do q reclamar, as comodidades e a limpeza são excelentes, enfim, qdo voltarmos em Fortaleza, com certeza ficaremos novamente no hotel Praia Mar. Q Deus abençoe ricamente os funcionários, e os proprietários, que continuem oferecendo um serviço de qualidade.

Muito ruim, sujo e mal conservado. O pior, o valor pago não condiz com a entrega. Único ponto positivo é localização.
