Food was great, great coffee, beautiful garden room, fabulous pool area and service. My only issue was that my 2 year old hasnt an understanding of noise yet, and we were asked to 'shh' at the pool, my son is 2 and therefore does not understand this, with all due respect, I found this quite upsetting and stressful, he was talking and not shouting just giggling having fun in the pool, this was the only spoiler. However, apart from this the food, staff and whole place was lovely! Would highly reccomend.

We stayed here to be outside downtown Bologna. Very nice place — great for weddings which was happening. They had a great onsite restaurant as well. It catered not only to hotel guests but also the locals. Our food and service were great. They had on site parking for free too — underground garage. The hotel staff was very friendly as well. Good stay.

Very nice hotel an easy half-hour drive to Bologna with lovely spacious classically decorated rooms, friendly service, a big refreshing pool set in lovely shady grounds, and a very good casual and convivial restaurant. The only deficit was the weak AC---which in the very hot August weather did not entirely cool the rooms at night even when set as low as possible. A fan helped, but there was only one, so our adult kids in the second room had a somewhat uncomfortable night. No AC was on in the public areas of the hotel, either, nor in the restaurant. It would have been nice to have been able to opt to stay cool in the indoor breakfast room, for example.....I did discover as we left one large vacant room in the basement, next to the parking garage, which seemed intended for use at business meetings though no business meetings were occurring, airconditioned to a blessedly cool termperature for no apparent reason. Why not cool a pubic space that guests could enjoy, instead?

The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and they exceptional service. The staff was wonderful and friendly, and were very prompt when they were needed. The front desk were wonderful and respectful and helped in every way possible. They answered any questions, and were very patient in explaining everything. We were extremely pleased with our stay, just can’t say enough how wonderful we were treated, and will definitely come back to Relais Villa Valfiore in Venice.

We enjoyed one night at the Relais after landing in Bologna. The hotel was a 25 minute drive from the Bologna airport and was easy to find using Google Maps. It was nice to have covered parking for the car. Our room was the ground floor of a small outbuilding, and it was very charming. The amenities might be a little dated, but everything was clean and functioned well. We didn't use the pool as the weather was too cold during our visit. I don't think the pool is heated. There was more traffic noise that I expected considering the hotel isn't off the highway, but the road by the hotel seems to service a popular gardening center and I think there's a good bit of agricultural vehicles driving by. I arranged for us to have dinner at the hotel's restaurant. It was surprisingly packed (it's a large restaurant) with mostly Italian families. The food was good, but nothing out of the ordinary by Italian standards. Overall, considering the price point, the hotel is good value for money.

Wonderful place to stay

A lovely, secluded hotel. A couple of minor issues that the staff tried to be proactive on. Some units do not have air-conditioning, was offered a unit on an upper floor that did, but stairs, for me, are a challenge. Staff put a dehumidifier that provided some relief. There was a large party that closed the dinning room and the staff provided a list of nearby eateries to visit. The problem was that when the hotel guest returned to the property all the parking was taken and we ended up having to walk 300-400m in the dark back to the hotel. (Reserving 5 or 6 spaces would have been a good plan). The kitchen cooks a great meal and is not to be missed. The food is paired with private label wine, that works well and is priced reasonably. For a quiet get a way, this location is perfect.

Lovely hotel outside Bologna with large comfortable rooms

I stayed here 3 years ago and it was amazing! Now it’s a bit run down - my room had scratch marks all along the walls. A plague of smelly insects in the bathroom and it wasn’t that clean. The property looks messy and tired in the garden area and the pool was green and brown. Yes l know it’s out of season however when l stayed here 3 years ago in late October it was pristine. Small dogs are an extra €10 and there is no breakfast buffet due to Covid which is ridiculous l just stayed in 22 hotels in the last month in Italy and all of them had buffet breakfasts. I won’t be back. Will stay elsewhere.

Molto bello. La camera bellisssima, colazione molto buona, la struttura molto bella. Lo staff molto gentile. Direi due cose importanti però..anche perchè vorrei tornarci ma solo se queste cose sono modificate. Il wifi in camera era moltooo lenta. Mandare un email ok, ma dovevo usare google doc e non andava troppo volte e video niente e mi serviva per il lavoro e pure per mio figlio che ho lasciato mentre ho fatto un massaggio..prenotato prima..e per un ora è stato in camera solo..che non ho portato libri.. e poi volevamo anche nel prenotare il viaggio guardare un film insieme la sera..l'ho immaginato come una piccola vacanza per noi. Ho chiesto aiuto ma il reset non è funzionato. 2. Il signore in piscina, che è molto gentile e molto disponibile, bravo, non portava una mascherina nessuno dei 2 giorni abbiamo passato in piscina e purtroppo si avvicina. Molto molto gentile e bravo ma troppo pericolo per gli ospiti.... Altrimenti molto bello tuttoe staff molto gentile Grazie

Beautiful hotel, but our room was next to the reception and it was very noisy, especially during evenings. Very good and organised breakfast, attentive personnel.

We were in Bologna during a heat wave and wanted a hotel with a pool. We lucked out. The pool was huge, the grounds nicely kept and the historic house well renovated. Service was 5-star.

An amazing place to stay - The villa and the grounds are beautiful, the rooms are lovely (traditional but with a modern twist) with everything you need inside, everything everywhere was spotless, the food was incredible and the staff are amazing. Will definitely be back!

Small hotel. It’s worth £70 a night, but not really worth £100 in my opinion. The AC wasn’t strong so I wouldn’t stay here again in hot weather. The mattress on the bed was nicer than a standard hotel.
