Friendly staff, clean room, nice view of the Argentina lake, breakfast okay, good food nearby at punta argentina restobar, bakery and pizza also nearby. Front desk helpful with any requests.

We loved our stay at Mirador del Lago. The hotel is beautiful, and our room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped, with one king-size bed and two twin beds. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of delicious options. If we return to El Calafate, we’ll definitely choose Mirador del Lago again.

I would give more stars, but the first night’s seafood pasta was a disaster, the dish was not eatable; pasta noodles were dry and seafood was spoiled. Terrible.

Good service overall

This hotel offers a great base to explore the Argentinian Patagonia and Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. It has a rustic feel to it but it is clean and the rooms are comfortable. As a base for adventurous tourists, they need better breakfast options. Most tours depart at 6 am and their restaurant opens at 6am. There is little to no flexibility in terms of preparing breakfast boxes or opening the restaurant earlier, so they need to work on this. We missed our breakfast on one occasion precisely because of this.

Needs some updating but overall great place

We ended up in El Calafate following a week of hiking across the border in Chilean Patagonia. In the end we decided not to stay an extra day in El Calafate to travel to the Perito Moreno glacier because we had seen a number of glaciers in Chile, so we had just one night at the Mirador del Lago, but it is a very nice hotel. In fact, the hotel was the high point of our visit to El Calafate -- even if the view of the lake is actually across a street and through some trees. A check of other dining options in El Calafate also led us to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant as well, and we were not disappointed.

We had a nice stay. The service was very friendly. The one uncomfortable thing for us was that our room was very hot at night even with the window open. We had a nice meal at the restaurant.
