The room was okay but did not feel like a premium room. It felt a bit tired with a few trip hazzards i.e. lamp cable plus chipped tile in bathroom needs attention. No separate shower or non slip mat. It was difficult getting in and out of the bath. Room was not made up during our stay. However Chloe was very helpful.

This was our third stay at the Chateau. It was exceptional value for money and good service. However the snack (two sandwiches) were grossly overpriced. The only other negative was the piped music which is broadcast in all the public areas. It would be nice to have the beautiful sitting room music free so that one could read quietly. Otherwise a lovely stay.

We've stayed at the hotel before and have to say that things have really improved since our last visit. A few minor issues in the bathroom but otherwise a very comfortable stay with friendly, helpful staff. The waitress at the pub is particularly lovely. If you love your garden then don't miss the walk up the valley which is a plantsman's paradise.

10/10 for staff. The lady at the front desk was friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. The hotel itself is very tired but is charming and comfortable. The grounds and hotel could do with some TLC. Great vegan options and in an amazing area!

It was really good, amazing quiet location, fantastic place. Good food. The walk to their pub (as in house restaurant was closed) was only tiny but not all the steps down to the road were lit properly. Only a tiny detail but could be improved. Their pub was very good and the manager very friendly and helpful. Also didn't realise breakfast wasn't included (probably my inattention when booking!). Staff were helpful and nice and good attitudes. Didn't seem very many staff and occasionally felt a bit is this place empty! Would I stay again yes if price was reasonable again. Thanks I did really enjoy it

The castle has an authentic charm... The parking is down the stairs, which is not so easy for pieces of luggage, but by luck, we've been helped by the staff Breakfast is nice, but menu could be completed The restaurant is 3 minutes walking from the hotel, and unfortunately there is no room service

The hotel is a beautiful building set in the most wonderful grounds that are a plant lover's paradise. Sadly what let down our stay was the lack of staff. We witnessed only two young women during our stay who seemed to be trying to cover all aspects of looking after guests. Tables outside weren't cleared for almost an hour after guests had departed and at breakfast no one came to check that our food was okay (which it wasn't). We slept badly as the duvet was far too heavy for the time of year and there was a constant noise throughout the night from some machinery (maybe the boiler?) which throbbed constantly making sleep impossible. The hotel rooms are beautiful but for the price one would expect a much higher ratio of staff. One of the young ladies appeared in the morning wearing a pair of leggings and a crumpled shirt, hardly the level of attire you expect in a hotel of this grade. It was a shame not to be able to enjoy a glass of wine in the hotel before heading to the nearby restaurant for dinner. The hotel runs an honesty bar but there are only spirits on offer. Our meal at the sister restaurant was good.

Beautiful classic property nestled in a sub-tropical valley in Jersey - great service at check in, good pub down the road for dinner (if you arrive on a Tuesday like we did and the restaurant in the hotel wasn't open) - the balcony on our room is great, and the hotel is quiet. Be aware that if you book through Expedia, the rate doesn't include breakfast, whereas if you book through the hotel it does - but you'll get a better deal on the room itself if that doesn't bother you.

A quiet well run old country hotel within a short walk of Rozel Harbour. Very friendly and welcoming staff added to the enjoyment. Excellent breakfasts Note if limited mobility - Limited parking next to hotel and no lift

We were in Jersey for a friend’s wedding. Having never been to the island, Chateau La Chaire was a wonderful base for the weekend. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the hotel was impeccably clean and the breakfast each morning was delicious. The hotel is in a beautiful valley in the north of the island, a short walk from the lovely fishing village of Rozel. I would highly recommend the hotel for anyone visiting Jersey.

Nice breakfasts and bed was comfy Very old property that is probably best suited to those who like a very old fashioned building and facilities. We felt quite claustrophobic surrounded by tall trees with no views

The time is well past when everything can be blamed on Covid! Much of what we read both ahead of booking and after arrival is most kindly described as aspirational rather than factual. ‘Set in 81/2 acres of gardens’ would be better described as ‘set in 81/2 acres of impenetrable wilderness’. A superior room is not one in the eves with less than full height ceilings over much of the room, where even someone who is not usually vertically challenged has to be careful not to hit their head on approaching the room. ‘All rooms have a bath …’ may be literally correct, but one does not expect, or appreciate, finding the bath actually in the bedroom. ‘All rooms have trouser press and hairdryer’ is hardly a noteworthy point these days, being a basic requirement, but actually our room had no trouser press. It did have a hairdryer, but the only electrical socket was at the opposite end of the room from the only mirror. There were two electrical sockets next to each other near the mirror, but both only had USB connections – six in all! The room fridge was not stocked and there were no newspapers in the drawing room, both as claimed in the amenities file. The hotel information files had not been updated. We were disappointed that the hotel kitchens were closed, but the hotel owned pub was fine. The breakfast room was overcrowded and the one waitress had difficulty coping. I'l leave it there. We have written along these lines to Hatton Hotels.

The fabric of the hotel is really nice but small details let it down a bit. I received an email a couple of days before arrival to say the restaurant was closed, a bit dissapointing. The postcode for the hotel takes you to the middle of a field miles away, another couple just arriving had the same issue. Because of the delay in arrivinv there was no food available, the receptionist made up some scones that werent particularly nice anx charged us over £17 for the privilege. The mattress was worn and uncomfortable. A problem jn the kitchen meant no cooked breakfast on the last day. Frankly its not worth the high price
