On arriving seeing all the lorries parked up was not sure what to expect. Stairs up to first floor rooms. Room was a surprise! very clean and plenty of room and a sea view! also surprising was how quiet it was. Did not hear traffic at all and it is on a very busy road.We ate in both the cafe and the resteraunt and the food was great! The staff were very friendly which was a bonus. It is a good base to visit Bamburgh and Lyndisfarne, both were well worth a day out.

Staff were lovely, good and clean accommodation, homely and extremely convenient. Excellent value for money, nice breakfast included, would come back. Also car chargers right next door and a cafe.

We stopped off for one night on our road trip to Scotland. What a little gem. We have already booked to go back in August for a few nights to explore the area. An ideal base to explore what Northumberland has to offer

Corridors and stairs a bit scruffy but rooms very clean and tidy. Food choices rather unexciting but adequate. Views from bedroom windows on first floor excellent. Breakfast very good.

Bar closed at 10pm but she was excellent and had been on since 12 so maybe some help required but to be fair I wouldn’t say it was an issue for me but maybe someone else

Overall pretty good . The staff at breakfast were lovely . Disappointed that the bin in the bathroom hadn’t been emptied and would suggest that the bathroom door needs attention . However , would stay again if up that way .

Staff are fantastic Main part of the hotel, bar etc are clean and modern. Note the bar closes at 9.30 Room was very cold and dated cosmetically Clean bedding and comfortable beds and towels clean and good quality tho. Main issue we found ( 2 people in 2 seperate rooms booked ) The shower / hot water system needs a major overhaul urgently. Bathroom sink taps bearly worked. Mixer shower was also at best adequate I would class this as a trucker / work person hotel.

Purdy lodge is an older property but is well maintained and kept clean and fresh. Don't let the main road put you off, we didn’t hear any road noise as the rooms are facing the beautiful scenery at the back. Look out for the wonderful wild hares, bouncing around the fields. A joy to see. The staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful and the breakfast and evening meal were top notch. We will stay here again next time we’re in the area.
