Room was spacious, clean and with additional facilities if needed, such as fan, heater, ironing board and iron. The staff member at reception was really warm, friendly and helpful.

Fabulous building of great character. Run a td Basil Fawlty. No one on reception just a phone number and the lady tips up pronto. Room right at the back, very quiet. Cold bathroom as no heating in there. Otherwise great room and nice extras. Big bonus having Bill's downstairs and epic central location.

The hotel itself does not have a restaurant but there is an attached , easily accessible eatery. The hotel is in the town centre with easily accessible shops, bars, coffee shops etc. The rooms are full of charm/character and are a good size. The staff are unfailingly helpful and friendly.

I stay regularly and the team are great and the rooms always clean and fresh. Each room is quite different, but always spacious and comfortable.

Didn’t have breakfast as they started serving too late (8am). Lighting in room poor, no desk to allow work. Seemed generally grubby in main areas and parts of room. Unlikely to stay again despite good location

Excellent staff, lovely room . They do not have their own dining facilities but there is a cafe / restaurant easily accessible should you wish to use it.

The room was spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Shower and bath were hot with good water pressure. Hotel is old and quaint but well decorated. Staff were efficient. Location is fantastic on the high street.

Friendly check in. Spacious clean rooms. Minor heating issue (one radiator stuck on - forgot to report it to reception, so not their fault no action whilst we were there). We needed to make sure the sash windows were fully shut to help keep street noise down. Beautiful Christmas decorations in hall & landings. Good coffee, great teas selection, etc. Would have been helpful to be told coffee pods would be replaced daily, but again we could have asked. Lovely soft dressing gowns provided - nice bit of extra luxury. Would recommend.

Really nice rooms with a lot of space. Me and my wife coming from different country and rooms was relatively cold for our taste. This is only bit I would improve. The rest is great! Special thanks to stuff for been professional and super friendly.

The room was lovely. Very spacious with good quality furniture and bedding. Plus great to have bottled water , kettle and coffee making equipment in the room. Lovely big bathroom - unfortunately the shower wasn’t working and I didn’t have time to call maintenance. Love the old world charm and character of this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

You have to call to get somebody to check you in - it was only 8pm Sunday night. He took me up to my room, at speed, opened the door and left - no explanations, nothing more. Peanut in middle of living room floor. Otherwise nice room, smelt a bit weird, as did the towels. Water is pretty weak and takes an age to get hot and then scorches the living daylights out of you. Had to leave very early - 04:45 and didn't know how to check out, so just left my key on the reception desk. I expect a bit more for 4 stars.

Good location. Room clean and fairly comfortable and would consider staying again but on this occasion the overnight temperature dropped and the room was cold until the heating came on in the middle of the night.

This is a quaint hotel on the Main Street of Guildford. It is a fairly old and creaky establishment but this, along with the delightful couple that run the hotel, add to its charm. My room was extremely spacious and well appointed. There is a good and popular restaurant downstairs and a rather surprising Cabaret/Bar called ‘Fallen Angel’ on site. I might recommend a room not close to or above the bar as there was a lot of “energy” coming from it. Don’t expect a Hilton experience. You are getting quirky British here. The village of Guildford is a good alternative to staying in central London if you want a more small town experience. The alleyways have great little cafes and establishments including great beers at a small craft beer place around the corner. It’s a lot more affordable than central London and it’s only a 35 minute train ride to Waterloo.

It's an amazing hotel in a wonderful location, such an historic building and extremely well-furnished. My only issue was that the shower head was at forehead height for me, although I am 6'4. The room is a bit chilly even with the radiators on - I like it cold, but if you need it warmer there is an electric oil-filled radiator you can turn on.
