Love the Abode girls on reception r lovely & helpful

The hotel is situated with easy access to Chester centre and right next to race course.We easily found a car parking space in the hotel car park which had easy access to the hotel. Reception were welcoming and we had the added extra of having an upgrade to a balcony room. Room was a good size and clean, bathroom had a large walk in shower. the room had a modern but cosy feel. A few things that were disappointing: small cartons of water in the room were £2.50 each, there was no plug socket on one side of the bed and the bed was a bit too soft for me. Breakfast was included which is table service. There’s plenty to choose from and it was delicious. The issues lay with the service, we had to wait over 15 mins for a table even though there were tables free but they hadn’t been cleared, they forgot to bring us parts of our order and then the food took a while to come out, there seemed to be plenty of staff but they looked overwhelmed and disorganised. This did dampen an overall good experience at Abode hotel

To be honest, we were really looking forward to this night away, but we were left a little deflated. Check in and check out was great, we were made to feel welcome. On arrival we went up to the brasserie for a quick drink, views were amazing, however, it seems that someone forgot to tell the cleaning team to actually clean! it was a little grubby to say the least, with just 3 of us in the bar. Our room was functional, which is probably not what you want to hear when you are pushing yourself to the top end of the market. In all honesty I've stayed in better for a great deal less. The bed was so soft as were the pillows. Probably the worst nights sleep I have ever had and left with a bad back due to the lack of support. I don't understand why hotels don't provide a choice of pillows. Both of us had to use the cushions for some support, but even that was like having sandpaper under your shoulders whilst you tried to sleep. The crowning glory came at breakfast, all I can say is 90 minutes to get served is shocking, no organisation, dirty tables, waiting for ages to get a drink and the chef just ruined any quality produce. Overcooked and undercooked on the same plate, just unbelievable. Guests having to go up and help themselves to drinks as no one was attending tables. I even managed to go back to our room, get all our belongings, take them to the car, pack and get back before our food arrived. Truly awful and we will definitely not be returning.

Stayed 1 night for work but great central hotel, with a tasty breakfast.

The hotel is really nice and a great location. We stay when we are running half marathon races. We managed to get a car parking place this time which made a big difference, although £20 is expensive. When we arrived in the room the safe did not work but the manager came very quickly to try and sort it. However, he was unable to fix it. We asked to be moved to another room but he said the hotel was fully booked so it wouldn't be possible. I quickly looked on line and it said there were 3 rooms available! He then quickly arranged for us to be moved and a staff member came to help us move.So that was good. Unfortunately, my pyjamas were left behind and the staffer unable to find them! We were able to pay to keep the room on which made things much nicer after the race. Overall a pleasant stay

Very well located with the racecourse on one side and walkable distance to the city centre on the other. Also next to a bus stop for those wanting to travel further. Reception staff was professional and although the system failed and we have been assigned somebody else's room, it has been quickly dealt with and we've been given an upgrade. Room was nice and clean with comfortable bed. Luck of a fridge was a big minus. Bathroom clean with part of the mirror that doesn't steam, which was a nice touch. Although, shower could use a door or curtain to avoid splashing water all over the floor. Having tiny balcony access and being able to get some fresh air was definitely a bonus, although the chairs could use something to even them out, as half of the floor is paved and another half filled with stone. Overall good experience and would come back for the price and location.

Close to restaurants and bars and very comfortable rooms.

Much improved from previous stay and review- excellent breakfast and service. I was in a rush for breakfast to leave assp, the waiter was excellent! Made sure my food came quick and I could leave asap! Thank you!

Ok. Could have been cleaner. I think it needs refreshing in a lot of places inside. Lovely staff.

Very comfortable, good breakfast and all the amenities you would expect. Only slight negative is the small number of parking spaces vs number of guests

Needs more car parking space.

The romm was clean and tidy on first appearance however curtains and lampshades we're very marked also found a number of hairs on the bed sheets. Tv only had a few working channels and wifi was not great

Amazing stay for a night out in Chester. Bed and pillows were so comfy! Room clean and perfect location to walk into town centre. We had drinks upstairs on the roof top with good views over the racecourse.

Great hotel, room was large and comfortable. Top marks.

Even though the hotel is near a busy ring road, it was very quiet. There is a lovely view from the upper level restaurant and the location itself is very handy for both the main town and a leisurely river walk. We enjoyed our 3 night stay and had a great meal at a nearby pub only 3 minutes walk away.

Unfortunately I was put in a room on higher floor which was fine , by 3 in the morning I was woken up heaving with the smell of the drainage from the bathroom.i was shattered as I had a long drive and all day. Went down to say I couldn’t stay in that room and fair play the guy behind reception gave me another room. Had a very busy day ahead so I was absolutely shattered and had an early start next morning. Very disappointed and really I shouldn’t have paid for that night.

Nice, clean, safe hotel with on-site parking.
